that's kind of the point to point, at launch it's more likely to to make stadium contact with the edge of the bit increasing it's movement and chance for an x-dash but will start to settle on the point and conserve stamina

The video is showing 3D prints as others have mentioned, but honestly it is.

Adults who play Beyblade have an inflated nostalgic memory of what Beyblade was like when they were 10, and when they pick them up again it's just as "dull". X was the only generation that had the high speed action people remember every generation as having.

I am really worried about how Hasbro is going to handle X. After finally seeing what a "regular" Burst was like from Hasbro I fully understand why people stick to TT exclusively. It was the cheapest piece of shit I've ever held. All they need to do is repackage the TT stuff with Hasbro stamps on the plastic and they're golden, little kids will fucking love slamming metal beyblades together. The market is here, there's nothing else to capture.

I felt bad for those kids man.
They got scammed, and don't know it.
And when they'd learn, they get defensive.
It's not their fault, they shouldn't have to import Beyblades at a premium.
Hasbro even edited the anime to remove the scenes and dialogue showcasing gimmicks.

Burst sold well, but I think they kneecapped it really bad.
It could've sold even better.

Every single Modern Horizons release warps the entire format around a handful of cards in it. Standard has had to ban shit every few months because they keep pushing crazy bullshit with minimal testing. MTG is just an anime TCG without T&A.

MFB never had any shrouds btw that's just a shitty cardboard wall and the fact that the carboard wall is deemed enough to stop the Beyblades meant they never flew out, simply knocked off like a limp dick. Plastic sending plastic flying is not the same as metal sending metal flying and in the case of X the RPMs are far higher and coupled with the extreme line gimmick designed to literally send a Beyblade running down the center of the stadium for high-speed knockouts.

But in Burst they started to use the shroud.
They disassemble and have metal disks.
And the plastic can be sharp and jagged.

I'm only getting back into beyblade after just starting watching Beyblade X. I bought the Dandragger set on beybrick site thing. Was that legit or did I get scammed with a fake one? Idk where to get legit launchers and such. Aliexpress has tons of beyblade x but I hear those are fakes. The launchers are super cheap compared to what I find on ebay though
I probably should have asked here first before buying the set but I honestly just felt too excited to get a beyblade again after so long

That's not entirely true. Burst had chip-like parts since GT and the faces on MFB beys didn't serve the same purpose as bit chips. I'd even argue that the gear chip is in the same camp as the faces and god chips from Burst.

I've just seen people say they're happy they have X has "bit beasts" again.
But they just mean a center motif image.
It's not about function, it's the aesthetic.
Burst, has the whole layer be the motif.
They don't like, that and the clear plastic.
I think it's because it has less readability.
This is my speculation, so I don't know.
Anyone who hates Burst should answer.

Yeah it's not a look some people like.
Early Burst was abstract, and clear. Like glass marbles, it's the textures.
They wanted it too look like crystals. But it looked too plastic for some.
Later they used less clear plastic. But they were still very busy and abstract.

Also Hasbro really messed up with MFB.
They kept releasing things incompatible. People just wanted the main toyline tops.
But they just kept releasing the spinoffs.

no left spin bey in x yet and i didn't get into burst at all
x just started but it's already a really solid series, every bey can make use of the x-line and we're just starting to get more defence and balance bey in out hands
no foxes in x yet, closest would be leon claw but x seems to release in lines. the first one was rpg based (wizard, dragon, knight, hells), second was animal (lion, snake, rhino, shark), and third is mythical (wyvern, phoenix, unicorn, sphinx)

I can also attest to what >>10844321 said, something about the look of burst feels like too much. The mechanical nature of the plastic, metal, and X series is just more appealing than the busy magic look of the Burst series. That machine-like quality has an appeal to it that felt lost in Burst.

I picked up some cheapo clearance Hasbro stuff a while ago and have had fun even just launching 2 on my own, thinking about importing some stuff since the UK stopped getting the Hasbro releases at some point so there's not much cheap stuff to be had anymore

Do I go in on X even though it's early and simple or get some late-era TT Burst stuff with the more gimmicky nonsense? Since I've got nobody to actually play it with and it'd just be me sadly playing with them in my bedroom from time to time

Stadiums are the most annoying to deal with too, since they both go fast and get upcharged the most outside of Japanese sites. Getting new blades isn’t as bad, since I was able to order Unicorn Sting without issues.

As someone that started with OG, Burst's designs are the reason I got back into Beyblade after writing off Metal Fight. It was cool seeing the beys have actual personalities throughout their designs, and I especially enjoyed all the gimmicks to further diversify them. I had big skepticisms with X at first because I was afraid of it being MF 2.0 in terms of design philosophy and looks, and I was right to be because I still get that vibe half a year in. However it's not even a year old yet and I've already begun collecting beys and a stadium for it because I'm geniunely curious where they take X.

I wonder if the simplicity of the X series so far is Takara trying to make as affordable a system as they can to appeal to Hasbro to keep quality consistent. Bits are nice and simple, the stadium is 10 whole pieces, and no paint apps.

It is the same thing. The actual blade determines the X bey's motif, not the gear chip. The only real difference between these two is that one picture is a sticker while the other is molded plastic. You also ignored the fact that Takara Tomy ditched that design for Burst when they made GT. From GT to the end of Burst, every bey(except Apocalypse and Genesis) had some form of chip-like part that carried the bey's motif.

Took my new stadium and X beys to my regular barcade spot on Friday night. On one hand, the battles are awesome and we were enjoying just how crazy the recoil can be. On the other, goddamn I can't wait until this generation expands because even with the 13 I currently own, it feels like constant clone fighting (part of that's on me because I bought the entire Viper Tail set). Update finally, after several messages sent to their customer service they finally acknowledged that they fucked up. I was told it was a warehouse coding error, which is another way of facelessly blaming technology instead of taking accountability for their mistake. Here's the series of events for you all:

Main issue was the wide ass diameter might cause finger catching safety issues. They considered making it smaller, but at that point it barely looked like Trypio to them.

Along with this, they already had concerns about the marketability of Trypio in the first place, so it's dead.

For the most part, Bakuten (1999 - 2005) and Metal Fight (2008 - 2014) had Hasbro import the TT stuff, albeit with a few sticker changes and/or colour changes. Some Japanese stuff never got ported over for both generations, but mostly the same.

Burst they changed the functionality "for the US market". But with Pro Series, they basically charged the import premium for locally released products we should've gotten in the first place.

For example, take Variant Lucifer.

It was released in Japan for 2420 yen ($15 USD) in 2020. It came with a STRING Launcher.

In 2021, Hasbro released their severely nerfed version, Vex Lucius, for $10 USD.

Then in 2022, Hasbro releases the original, Japanese Variant Lucifer, as "Variant Lucius", for $22 USD, which is close to the import pricing.

Yeah I saw a video of the Dranzer remake and it has a metal top layer on top of a weight disc with paint on the top layer. It chips off along the edges but the weight disadvantage is probably due to adhering to the original size rather than the material.

They do have metal on the "Blade" part - DranzerSpiral is actually blue and silver paint on the areas where it's metal. TT just purposely underweighted it.

DranzerSpiral is best for Attack, but when it's 8 grams below the normal range for an Attack Blade (27 vs 35 grams) there's no point. They also made DranzerSpiral weirdly unbalanced as well, picrelated.

At least when the plastic remakes in Burst were first coming out, those were on par and decent.

Poll was done in Japan - keep in mind Driger F(ang) is one of the worst Drigers in terms of performance, and that you can regularly find the original in Japan for less than 2000 yen (15 bucks).

Driger S and Driger V2 were the most competitively viable Beyblades back in the day and have a huge fanbase from the comp side as well as the anime kids.

I have been practicing with rhino horn for a week and I can't believe how wrong everyone was about this thing. It's simply amazing for everything other than stamina maxing. I heard zankey describe it as a mislabeled attack type, but honestly this thing counter attacks very well and can survive other attackers to spin finish. Never trust the hot take on the underdog, I guess. Can't wait to see how this does on high needle, point and any of the gear bits.

Tournament results anon. Anecdotal practice results are the worst because casual players will play against themselves in different conditions and go to a tournament and get blasted.

X is probably the worst gen to self practice in too, because it's the first gen to have meaningful side differences and reliance on Launching.

Yeah I'm finding that playing by myself that there's a huge advantage that is lost on aggressive beys if you're not launching them second. Need those double launcher adapters to make it to market, stat.

I understand what you're saying but I wouldn't dissuade people from practicing against themselves, especially if this is their first time getting into the hobby. The blader makes the difference just as much as the blade, so why discourage them from bettering themselves? Elitism can kill your budding userbase quick if you're not careful. Stuff like "your opinion doesn't matter unless you're a trophy jockey" will drive newbies away.

Have you considered that a majority of people that go to tourneys end up meta chasing, thus ignoring entire releases because they heard it was 'hot garbage' from youtube personality #2,404? What if someone actually did try to master an under utilized bey and got real results, would you discredit them just because there isn't enough tournament data to support the claim something that was considered crap is actually good? DB system was 2021, and on release they were already a decent markup. This was because 1. Either a Random Booster prize with a shit pull rate or 2. a version from the set. Parts were competitive AND a major character in the anime. You could only get the Bahamut core through one of these two releases.

Burst ended in 2022, and now there's a lot of market price adjustment going on. Roar Bahamut in the original colours has gone even higher than previous, and other prize Beys have sunk in price.

This is just ignorant of how tournaments are played. In both B4 (Japan) and WBO (West), absurd combos appear all the time, with some even reaching top placements in regional tournaments.

The key is to find parts that appear CONSISTENTLY in top placements and understand why.

Relying on a YouTuber or your own testing for reliable metagame information leads to confirmation bias and tunnel visioning into bad takes like "how wrong everyone was" about RhinoHorn.

Then some YouTubers/tournament go-ers found some success with it in self-tests and at regional tournaments, and proclaimed everyone was WRONG about DranzerSpiral, because their small sample size told them it was good.

"Weak" parts aren't going to show in tournament results as often as "good" parts. That's not because the top players are "meta chasing", it's because rogue picks will inherently exist where there is a metagame.

Sure, DranzerSpiral CAN work as well as PhoenixWing, but the skill ceiling is so high, most people don't bother. Why work hard for less?

Everything. The short version is that everything is hollowed out, the blade gimmicks are removed, the driver gimmick is removed, the paint is removed, and there is now 2 holes in Balkesh's face.

Usage wise, Roar Balkesh is bad among the Hasbro meta and other Quad Beys. Fierce Basilisk is literally just Roar Balkesh but better. If you're looking for a display piece, the paint work is not close. The TT chip is completely paint, the TT blade is painted and has stickers, etc.

If you're in the US, Roar Balkesh has hit dollar stores for $5USD so might be worth a look.

In CCGs, meta chasing creates herd mentality, the path of least resistance and 'if it werks it werks.' This creates stagnant metas that are mostly pervaded by the ones who can ape the top player's winning strategy and claim it as their own. But at the same time of this existing, there are outlier specialists that spend time, money and manpower to prove to the world that people were wrong to write off a particular strategy, one that they believe was unjustly perceived. That anon could be a specialist, and there's nothing wrong with going to a tournament or even just playing casually with parts that you feel are special. If their dedication gets them results they should be commended rather than berated for not following the herd and sharpening their personal technique. That was my point.

Why do you have a hard time accepting the fact they could be right? Because you're upset they're not following tournament law of the jungle? Just let them cook.

There's burst remakes of old stuff and yeah, there's a Dranzer X bey ( Driger coming soon ) but if you want that more basic burstless style you have to go with one of the other smaller brands like korea's Charging Topspinner.

Takara want to lean into the things they can do better than anyone else to make the brand keep standing out, so burst and the Xtreme Dash to make battles more exciting

Mall of toys. They jerked me around for a fucking month before sending my couple hundred dollars order to me. Claimed it got lost in the warehouse due to a coding issue. I sent them messages over and over claiming there was an issue because all that showed up were two individual items that were back ordered at time of purchase. These scumbags; I can't believe this shit. If they had just sent the order sans 2 items that were backordered initially this wouldn't have happened. They lost the box containing my original items because they held it back for the missing pieces, then promptly shipped those pieces by themselves once they arrived weeks later and forgot entirely that the initial shipment hadn't been fulfilled. They put items I bought on deeper sale in that month long wait and sold out on things they already took my money for. My request for them to make this right with a coupon or credit to the store? LMAO ignored; not even stated that they can't do that just expressing general apathy towards me. My reward for constantly being vigilant and staying on top of this matter for four weeks? Lying to my face, over and over, with empty apologies.

Mall of Toys is the worst place you could buy your Beys from. Fuck 'em. Simply put, they do not care about their customers. I'm going to be highly vocal about this to everyone I know; all the local players I engage with, perfect strangers on the net and my friends I tried to get into the game with a birthday gift that hasn't yet arrived and won't for another week or two (if I'm lucky). Pure incompetency and lack of accountability; what an absolute disgrace.

I would say it also depends on which one it is. For newer releases, I'd go Suruga-ya if the timing is right for free shipping. The main Amazon site also has relatively sane prices for a couple of older releases. As one last note, the shipping prices on stadiums is insane.

Was anyone else kinda disappointed with how... small RhinoHorn is? LeonClaw is wide as hell, and I was expecting RhinoHorn to be about the same width and maybe a bit taller in the metal areas, but this thing is dinky. The fuck kinda rhinos they got in japan?

yeah the triangle wedge with the dots are the shoulders, and it's a four of them there. The bey launcher tri setup overlaps one of them, but the shoulder is still modeled behind it which is a nice touch. They even have cute little nostrils. I love this design, and while yes I wish it was scaled up a little more, I think it leaves room for improvement on the design when they revisit 'rhino' for a future release.

That's kind of the point. It's smaller, but if you weigh the blade, you'll see it's not much lighter than KnightShield. They reduced its size to increase its mass toward its center, which gives it improved angular velocity. It's basically the same thing as Draciel's metal ball base with the balls retracted. This lets it be able to tank hits better, as well as dish them out.

How should I slowly integrate into the tournaments for Beyblade X? I don't know anyone that plays it, and the few tournies I see advertised locally are for all ages. I mean their advertisements show wall to wall kids, very few adults save for what I presume are parental wallet units.

You don't understand, Hasbro is a bloated intellectual property hydra. They would be remiss not to plaster their pathetic brand crossovers all over every and any project they oversee. This also allows them to use the same molds to sell you the same beys just in different colors, because they don't think people are going to excited for -yet another arrow wizard- repaint #7. They believe their customer base are children with short attention spans, which largely they are trying to captivate that market share lately (and failing at it).

Me and some friends just bought some beys after seeing them at MAGfest.
I ended up going for Takara Metal Series while my friend endded up getting a lot of Burst ones from goodwill.
Is it a bad idea to have different series beys go against each other? Will the metal just fuck up other non metal ones?
