Sometimes they've added tiers, but whatevs, that was when a Haslab was doing poorly in all fairness. In any case they usually post extra overview videos with the creator n stuff, and whatever. And anyways even if it is doing well now, I'm not getting it til all the backer rewards are hit. It's just the principle od the matter.

Nah, the added tiers rarely have any rhyme or reason to them, DS ended up getting them after the campaign was funded, bit the wording made it sound like they planned ro reveal it normally, but couldn't because we didn't go over the stretch goals until the very end. Hell, Victory Saber went over the tiers similar to DS and nothing was added.

Do basically, getting any past initial tiers is up to Hasbro. Aside from mini figures of Koji and T-AI, I'm not sure what they could add, and people would laugh if it ended up bring something as insignificant as the faux missiles foe Bluebolt.

Anyway, posting some random pics of figures with double their usual weapons because I like doing that.

Same thing as Victory Saber, the main toy could have been added to the mainline, but there's a risk people wouldn't buy the power up character.

Victory Leo is a robot lion with guns, so that one might have sold well (though, going by how both Lio Convoy's sold, they might have been right). Meanwhile, God Magnus has a decent vehicle mode and a bland robot mode that's almost entirely carried by his gigantic multi purpose gun, I can't see Mr 80 percent legs doing well at all.

The show model does not in fact have just a flat plank. It wrapped all the way around and looked like an actual midsection. If they're gonna make this thing so big and expensive they could at least throw in 2 extra fold out flaps to cover the sides.

Not him, but you make a fair point. They did address that the og designer worked on it and was trying to fix problems with the original releases, but there's no way to know if it's good until it arrives. Hell, Omega Prime still seems to have limited shoulders going by the images (the red section with a wheel from God Magnus seems to block it from moving forward).

Nah. I think Volcanicus and Abominus only got rereleased because they were the most recent retail combiners at the time. They're not gonna rerelease a CW mold, especially a repaint of one. I think what will happen, at best, is that we'll get a Bruticus in whatever line comes after Legacy, and then they'll release Baldigus some time later.

Some of them were alright. CW had a decent design philosophy but the budget fucked it over. Modern combiners have the budget but they're too beholden to the ugly as sin Sunbow models, hence shit like Menasor.

That's not how it works, look at how they did Convoy. Show colors is just the cab, matrix, rifle and axe. Toy accurate one also has the trailer, roller, etc.
So in Megatron's case show colors should only include the fusion cannon and flail.

Hasbro is too vehement in releasing more than one Commander in a "main" Generations line, always having to choose one Commander and one Titan each year and limiting others for the next year. If they can't find a way to get Omega Prime out, they're gonna have to do the most risky option: HasLab. The only thing I don't like about Star Saber is that the shoulder articulation is just straight up bad. There was no excuse for it being limited the way it was with a single outward joint. Other than that I was happy with it.

And honestly as someone who owns both, the Haslab is still better than the MP. I guess the MP has better shoulder articulation but that's really it, the articulation and honestly even the build quality are better elsewhere, Haslab Saber is much better than the MP Saber, the Haslab version is better at holding all of its accesories, and the Haslab set is actually designed to combine with a Victory Leo (that one 3P Victory Leo MP keeps falling off him because it's too heavy)

Nope. The first Goodsmile Max Power Gridman was a standalone thing. New one is a completely new sculpt with new joints and refined transformation, and it's also bigger. Something that bothers me is that the Gridman included in this set is one centimeter taller than the original and Gridknight (that used the same body), so it's not compatible with Dynazenon.

But it still bothers me that it is taller than the Gridknight and Universe Gridman included with both Goldburns. They didn't plan this as nicely as they should, as they based Dynazenon's size on that first Max Power Gridman that wasn't very good.

The designs for the toys are show inspired because they have to be, it's a legal loophole to get around not licensing with Takara for the original TF designs, but yeah that is reportedly the situation with Brave. Takara doesn't own Brave anymore and it's with Bandai who owns Sunrise, then they license it out to other companies like GSC.

If it makes you feel any better, even older printers are still really good. Old printers don't get worse, new ones just get better, and even "budget" printers are still fantastic. My Mars 3 Pro is still an excellent workhorse; main reason I want to upgrade to a Saturn 3 is for the extra build volume and so I can save my Mars 3 Pro for figure stuff (with Saturn 3 for wargaming minis).

Just got Core Energon Megatron. That tab placement on his torso was really bad, and they barely served a purpose. Those have been chopped and he's a lot better now. Until recently, the commander class didn't do that well. Ultra Magnus and Armada Prime are the first to do very well. RID Optimus would do well, but there's a chance RID Magnus does horribly. So this really isn't an issue of slots, it's more that Hasbro doesn't seem to have confidence that upgrade characters can so well on their own.

Sort of related, I really hope Overload and Jetfire are normal releases.

The general opinion seemed to be not so good on him over here, but I found Tigerhawk yesterday and he's actually pretty neat. The bot mode proportions are way better in hand (somehow it didn't come across on pictures). My only problems with him so far is that the alt mode posterior is a little anemic (though once again much better in hand) and that the tiger head looks more like a bear.

I tend to not listen to people reviewing things on here. I thought I was going to be disappointed completely from all of the dismal reviews, but he just looks so intimidating. I don’t even care that much about the wrists. They could have given him rotating wrists but honesty I think they would have to have been able to tilt forward to do cool sword poses, so maybe they couldn’t figure out how to do that so they just didn’t even think about it. Some guy modded his to have ball joints ala Legacy Scourge, but I don’t want to chop up anything when I can’t find this guy in stock anywhere in case I bust him up irreversibly.

My one gripe is easily fixed however with no real way for him to look up. You can snip off that little bar on the back of his helmet to give him the ability to look up/forward while he’s flying and it really helps this figure.

As for his anemic beast butt, you’re not wrong. I was disappointed everyone was kind of disingenuous saying it was very fiddly and sucked for posing, because it’s not really true. I was able to make him stand up with those legs somehow even though the ball joints don’t seem particularly tight and do some cool shit with him.

Glad you like him though.

I saw a Star Saber Victory Leo combo for a bit under 400 dollars like a month ago, right after buying Armada Prime for 200 dollars.

You know, I recently got Siege Airwave on clearance as a cart-filler, only to discover I actually really like the whole 'interconnects with bases' thing, especially since I already had Black Zarak in base mode at the time. Picked up Greasepit on Friday, and I'm loving him, too - I think I'll get the other guys, too, for the hell of it; I already have a bunch of Micromasters and Minicons to use with them.
Really, I'd forgotten how much fun having playsets actually is - I used to own a ton of those Micromachines and Mighty Max ones as a kid, but it's been decades since I've messed around with anything like that.

They were going to go for an original design for him on the right. He was going to be the main villain for the show until the whole thing was scrapped. Kinda glad about it, since it was going to be made by the same guys that wrote the wfc trilogy, and this sort of thing would only satisfy fans if they were planning on incorporating the original marvel design later on

I'm a big fan of the Combiner Wars OCs, I have the Legacy Stunticons but still wanted Offroad since he really is just a solid design. I got him for basically deluxe price too instead of retarded online prices which is a plus.
