I'm thoroughly disappointed this thing was back but I'm not surprised. If you think really hard about it, they can kinda make sense. Metal is made from refined ores - you take rocks that have the stuff in it, melt it down, and dump the refuse, leaving behind the useful stuff for smelting. While normal Transformers dudes are made of the refined metals, these guys are still in their raw ore form - they're basically the equivalent of cavemen, being rough and unrefined. They're still the same Living Metal as everyone else at the end of the day and still capable of transforming, just in a more primitive state.

We don't have any control over it. The only thing we influence is if an item ends up produced or not. People's constant complaints about the practice won't change anything and the only thing we can do about them is support them or not.

Ptera ("aerodactyl") is maybe a rhamphorhynchid, but i think it's just a fantasy dragon pterosaur. it'd do fine for a pteranodon to be terrorsaur. and the crossovers don't have to be / shouldn't be perfectly 1:1
also Spear is a wasp, it's clearly based on the japanese hornet, right down to the cocoon stage. the dub called it 'Beedrill' because they're hambrains, and because japanese doesn't distinguish between wasp and bee.

It's almost certainly an airachnid pretool.
Look at the leg transformation, if you swing them back, it can very easily make the spider-gerwalk mode she has, and the helicopter blades are just removable so it's easy to swap it with a 3 blade one.
Or blades from rescue bots, swapping the thruster weapons out for his water landing gear

either one would work well honestly.

He sold well though so I disagree, considering Hasbro takes 2 years to plan up a line they probably made Armada Optimus as a test to see if they should make more Armada updates. Considering his sales, I'm thinking that Hasbro currently has the blueprints for a Leader Class Overload since that's easy to do and Jetfire is on the table but would be worked on afterwards since he's more complex than Overload.

Nope - you'd have to squeeze any Titanmaster/Headmaster in between her back and her kibble to get it in there, and I'm pretty sure the roof and windshield aren't tall enough to fit them inside regardless.
It's fine, though - this is supposed to be the Minerva robot from the end of the Super-God Masterforce cartoon, where the Transtector gained a will of its own and became her own bot, so she doesn't need one.

Yolopark I think is pretty decent and the model kits are also fine, yamaguchi also did optimus that one time and it looked pretty fantastic but not exactly accurate

This is more up to the licensor than the licensee. If Disney, who owns Star Wars and Marvel, want tie in merch for their most recent media, their partners, like Hasbro, are contractually obligated to make it. It sucks, but there's nothing anyone can do about it. Just the way the world works.

Also, I'd like to point out these numbers are pretty consistent with the rest of the toy industry as long as your not named Lego, they seem to immune from anything negative. The Spider-Man license is weird as fuck between Sony and Disney and isn't the best example to go off of. My bet, because this also happened with other companies, that Andrew Garfield and Alfred Molina didn't release their likeness rights for NWH to be made as toys. However, Hasbro, Disney, or whoever, still retained their likeness rights from previous deals, thus releasing those toys under that branding. This is pretty much confirmed with Garfield since Hot Toys did the same thing and Bandai had to pull his unmasked head from the SHF release. The older branding I think is just a way to get around those likeness rights issues.

Various licenses cover different things. Hasbro owns the license to make six in, domestic action figures that are sold in various toy aisles at places like Target and Walmart. That license accounts for the actual quality. Hasbro can't just say make a cheap 5POA figure and market it under the same license that MLs are under. That's just not how it works.

As said before, the problem with companies like Hasbro and Mattel is that their ran by out of touch boomers who have no idea that what they grew up kids today don't care about and want to make toys more for themselves rather than the target audience as opposed to companies like Moose, Zuru, and especially Lego that put emphasis play value first and foremost.

Bayverse figures for the following 2 movies became so complicated that hasbro got a ton of complaints from parents and they would end up recoiling and filling the AoE line with tons of babby tier figures
These days things a lot better and difficult figures feel more like an outlier, I do think they should at least bring back the difficulty scale on the packaging though

Super7 isn't for me, I like my Transformers to transform, and the simplicity of extreme Sunbow accuracy doesn't translate well to 6+ inch figures in my view, but I'm glad they exist for people who want that. Hasbro's Generations figures with toon decos and painted windows, like the upcoming 5 pack, are the perfect middle ground for me, but there's plenty of people who trash those as being shit. At the end of the day we all have different ideals when it comes to what we want in our Transformers, so having options to make everyone happy is good.

The newest edition to the group is the rare 'Energeon Fizzy Sweets' variant of Universe Brimstone (second to the right in picrel), a UK exclusive version that was randomly packed with some (reportedly nasty tasting) candy alongside 11 others. This version of Brimstone uses an almost neon green as its primary color (versus the yellowish of the mainline release to the right) as well as a slightly different shade of army green used for the neck, tail and wings which is almost an exact match for the color used by Legacy Armada Megatron. This version of Brimstone was repurposed as the character 'Miss Q', an intern working for the Axiom News Network from the TransTech storyline, which is who I'm going to be using her for (since I already own the actual Brimstone), so my group now has one fembot, and a relatively hard one to find at that, given the random nature of how she was packaged.
The only use of this mold I'm missing now is the super-ultra-rare Dragoyell, who I've accepted I will never find (and if I do, he'll be a small fortune, given how few of him were ever made and distributed).

After doing a little bit of reading I have come up with a theory. It has been suggested that the chemical fire retardant used in the plastics is reacting to heat and humidity and causing rapid yellowing. So here is my theory - We know that over time plastizers leak out of toys, what if that fire retardant chemical that causes the yellowing, is also slowly leaking out of the figures and once it has leaked and evaporated enough, the yellowing disappears? This would mean that (hopefully) eventually, all new figures that have yellowed, will return to normal, or at least closer to.

There was someone on the TFwiki who actually described that very thing happening with their WFC Soundwave, which experienced no other yellowing, even though it's a common occurrence with that figure. The fact that this yellowing is happening so quickly that people are reporting it happening to figures that are still on store shelves implies that this is not regular discolouration.

alright, Antagony came in. I like her. Honestly in robot mode, the ant legs don't look that bad. she comes packaged with her abdomen folded out like a trenchcoat on her hips, and I like that a lot better than the terrible attempt at Inferno's buttpropeller. her torso's a little gappy, but the tiny robot hands don't bother me on her
buuut I think I can tell this will never be satisfying as 'inferno' for me, so I'm probably going to take the neck-adapter route, and turn the PF inferno into an OC using the Scavenger head (undersized as it is)
next step is to try to reshape the ant legs. not sure if boiling water or sawing and folding will solve this.

Japanese stores release on the actual release date. The stores that import the figure, like Pulse and TFSource, need time for the released figure to then ship to them, so their release date is basically a prediction on when they will get the figures in their hands. When they release sooner than their listed release date, that means they either got their stock earlier than expected or they set the release date much further than necessary due to an abundance of caution.

ok so I got MP Suiken in the mail today and was going through the transformation to robot mode when I hit something strange. I'm trying to put the backpack on but it seems like the part that's supposed to be a slot above the hole is not a slot but some kinda plastic piece sticking out of said slot, so I can't put the backpack on. OK I got it now! I dont think Emgo mentions it but the head/hand has its initial slider to switch from hand-to-head but the head itself has its own slider! That plastic piece tells you that it hasnt been moved yet but once the head is moved forward closer to the body, it uncovers the slot.

I haven't seen any spoilers for issue 5, so I wonder how he transforms with Megatron's arm. I guess the side of the truck could just be silver with a plasma cannon hanging off it. Though it'd be kinda cool if the arm just physically could not integrate into Prime's alt mode so he just has to hold it there.

This would have made so much more sense. I got Bouldercrash, because it's a rock dude that turns into a rock motorbike, which is silly and fun, but a rock critter would definitely have been more fitting. I think the general reluctance to do more original beast Transformers outside of the original set is kind of a bummer. Like, why couldn't Bouldercrash turn into some kind of rock crab thing? Why couldn't Magneous be a rock hippo?

I'm a bigger Beast Wars fan than I am general Transformers, and the designs kind of irked me, not so much the beast modes (size aside) but the robot modes, I missed Primal having the chest crest and the red and white accents, I missed Cheetor having the Cheetah head chest, and Rhinox having the lower jaw. But those are minor quibbles, because I definitely dig the beast modes, especially Primal and Cheetor, they have a vaguely Transmetal vibe, where the robot modes intergrate more of the organic, and the beast modes have more mechanical details. Seriously who doesn't love a giant robo-monke? I've already bought a bunch of the Primal figures and I only saw the film two weeks ago, I got the studio series, the silly little weaponizer (repainted the helmet on it metallic blue and it really makes the figure pop) which is way more fun to play around with than you'd think. I even got the Yolopark model kit, and have the Buluke kit incoming.

Either way Beast Wars literally saved the franchise back in the 90s, it definitely deserves more attention.

but as mech-animal designs, they do it for me. They did the same thing with the dinobots where their robot modes are kinda unified, and while I definitely have reservations with that, it has a certain appeal.

He's really good. The legs are stupidly over-engineered, and are kind of terrible in beast mode, but he can (just barely) manage an all-fours and upright pose, which is what matters. Also I really dig the articulated mouth.

I had one policy, getting 1 mold of each Weaponizers that I like, I loved the Fossilizers, was underwhelmed by the Junkions mainly because each separates pieces doesn't have 5mm pegs on them (I didn't bother to take the Voyager because he was poor at doing the gimmick), so naturally I skip the Rock lords for now because they too dont do the trick

Yeah, the Junkions really have the vibe that they only come apart just for the sake of coming apart, and because they did it in the movie. They don't really make any good use of it like the weaponizers or bonerizers did. Do you not know how slow boards and catalogs work, you see this now and then for other boards as well, because flooding a slow board with five fucking threads is considered poor etiquette, the only two reasons we have these rules posted every time is because newfags and retards who refuse to learn what a catalog is get legitimately confused, and a single fucking instance of the rule being omitted leads to our resident psychopath going "tee hee the rule wasn't there last thread, so it's not here for my new thread I made on page 4"

Only one I kept is G1 ravage, the rest try hard to look cute but just look like their normal selves with big eyes and hands, they needed bigger heads, you can see how Kickback here >>10873438 has mostly normal proportions, whoever did these needed a class on what chibi proportions are.

I'm glad they didn't go with chibi proportions. Chibis all just look like babies, but keeping a rounded and playful version of the actual character allows them to have their own unique shapes. I think it's a particularly fun style for the villains in the marvel series.

Wreck-Gar gets a pass but otherwise yeah. I do kind of like Transformers 07 concept Arcee's robot hair though, the head is molded like she's got a flock of seagulls haircut.

Yeah, it wasn't trying for traditional chibi, it was the Transformers version of Hasbro's Superhero Squad line. The biggest shame is Robot Heroes is that they never made a G1 Devastator in this scale, instead leaving us with an undersized Bay Devastator.

As much as I hate the live action movies and the toys, I do acknowledge that had they not made HasTak a shitload of money, they wouldn't have been able to indulge us with collector lines, and especially something like a fucking Fortress Maximus reissue for me personally. The new comic seems to be following the durability precedent set by most previous comics; unless a bot gets totally fucking vaporized, they're only MOSTLY dead.

-Blaster, also appearance apparently gunned down with Beachcomber, then Prime's flashback didn't help.
-Perceptor, but he's discolored so no clue if this was meant to be him.
-Brawm had his chest vaporized so he might be a goner. If he survived then this will mean you can only kill him with shoulder shots.

They weren't exploded. Teletraan just got blown up in the process of rebuilding them and their pieces fell back to the ground, but were still mostly intact. Hence them both being revived in issue 5.

The only thing that looks like a definitive death so far, in my opinion, is Reflector because he just got completely obliterated by a point-blank fusion cannon shot. And even then, I'm only 99% certain.

Well if the covers mean anything, he's still there for issue 7. Although the covers haven't been entirely accurate depictions of what actually transpires, I feel like it would be weird for them to feature a character who explicitly died in the previous issue.

The only Autobot that we've been introduced to who isn't here is Wheeljack. But he isn't even involved with the attack on the Decepticons they just launched. Maybe he shows up with some kind of mega cannon to help take down Devastator but ends up sacrificing himself to do so? Would suck because I kinda love Wheeljack, but he's had a lot of time to shine in both previous IDW runs.

Hey guys, do Hasbro Pulse Premium members get frequent sales at all? I'm just thinking about getting two of the Omega Prime Haslab, but shipping for both would already cost equal to the price for Pulse Premium.
I doubt I will be able to use it on a second hypothetical TF Haslab afterwards, since they space out reveals by a year PLUS just a couple months, so, yeah I dunno. The shame of it is that the G1 toys are actually super cool-looking robots with banger alt modes, tons of appeal and a tasteful dash of kitsch. I feel like they absolutely could have made amazing modern toys out of these concepts with an MP budget, but because we're beholden to the absolute tragedy that is most sunbow designs, Takara basically spends all that money to flush plastic down Floro Dery's butthole.

Tidal Wave is in stock for preorders now, but when it first went live it went out of stock within the first 10-15 minutes. Thr only upside with them is that they'll sometimed ship a brand new item to make up for a faulty product, the problem is that it could be anything transformers related.

He is 100% a better figure than Bee Movie Prime and you cannot change my mind. Yeah, the back of the main part of the truck is off, but the way the rest of the "bed" is actually pretty accurate. I would rather have a truck that looks MOSTLY good in truck mode and a million times better in bot mode than the Bee movie one where my copy you couldn't keep the legs together because it would just untab if you looked at it wrong. I also like the torso on the new one much better. That's just my opinion though.

I have no idea how to 3d sculpt, I just downloaded other people's stuff and printed it. There's tons of free shit out there, I even got some CW port to 5mm peg/post adapters free from some site a couple years back, and pic related that I never ended up printing. With this you can make combiner centaurs.
