Yes, they do chip easily. They also have total dogshit engineering, you can tell that they weren't really made to action pose, they just sort of have joints in the right places because that's what everyone else was doing. The sculpts are pretty good, but that's it. Everything else is trash and they cost way too much for what you get.

I mean, I get people wanting the animated versions of the characters that Mondo puts out, but, yeah, I think even their biggest fans can agree that they're overpriced for what you get considering the QC issues and that it's all plastic. I remember when Hot Toys tried to pull that with Spidey 2099 while still charging standard prices and the backlash was so strong they had to change the outfit to fabric soon after.

None of my MoTU ones have chipping paint. Paint rub however is a big concern, which at this price is not really excusable. I’ve got he-man sitting on a plastic sheet between him and battle-cat because the paint from his legs is definitely going to transfer to the saddle otherwise. Their business practices are what is worse than their toys though, this FOMO artificial scarcity shit blows and is everything wrong with the industry. I wouldn’t say they can be played with, they can pose without damaging the paint, but these aren’t desktop toys, they are like metal build, chogokin, or any other other high end painted toy where you need to stay aware and be careful every movement you make to avoid damaging anything. And beyond that the joints on them are intentionally stiff due to their weight which makes them even less fun. Battle cat for example has joints so heavy duty due to his huge size you have to basically decide on the pose you want before trying to move his parts, pick him up off the shelf and slowly work each individual limb where you want it to be. It’s not really a toy, it’s more of a statue you can change the pose on. The paint rub is certainly an issue and it should not be as fragile as it is but you can avoid almost all of it by just not posing the figures where parts are rubbing against each other. The battle cat saddle is one situation you just can’t avoid.

Is Mondo Rogue the most, uh, 'attractive' and 'on-model' looking cartoon female action figure done to date? I feel like when it comes to toy lines, even expensive imports, they always seem to miss the mark by a long shot with the female characters. But with Rogue here it seems like they really nailed it. It makes me wish more companies that produce cartoon figs would put more attention to detail in the comic/cartoon aesthetic. Too many comic book figures these days try to go for a realistic look and it's a huge turn-off.
