What do we think about the Animal Crossing sets that just came out?

The animal characters maybe the only time lego have managed to translate a different cartoonish visual style to minifigs and have it look good. The sets themselves mostly look pretty lame though, kind of bare, especially the houses and the too-rounded terrain, I know that's how it looks in-game but in lego it looks odd and boring at the same time.
You need to stop looking at so much porn though, you shouldn't want to fuck the cartoon animals and I don't even see what about them is sexually appealing to you.

Guys, I haven’t been into Lego since like 2005 but got a Speed Champions set for Christmas and now I can’t stop buying them (at discount on Aussie websites).
How do I get over this addiction.
So far it’s all cheap sets because they’re current ones, but previous year ones are so pricey.
Are the chinese clones any good?

My brother in Christ these have been the go to Spartan armours for minifigs since I was a kid and halo was still releasing good games, I seriously doubt that anybody is going to do better now

BrickTactical does a lot of Halo stuff & has improved on a lot of weapons that BrickArms has made, so he could very well improve on the Spartan armor in the future (his mk 5 is meh though)
Apparently he's working on Noble Team/ODST armor, so we'll see how that turns out if it ever comes to fruition - the Brick Forge stuff is definitely a staple though

BT does good stuff for sure, the marine helmets and CE marine armor especially, but generally BA weapons are better. BT weapons are overly detailed to the point of not being Lego like and he fucks up attention to detail with random inaccuracies. Still good stuff but BA (and BF energy swords) are better.
I hope BT does more Mjolnir armor variants, I think in general he's better at armor than weapons and EOD CQB Scout etc would be cool

Well gonna try, on the train one, depending how many free studs you have behing those tracks, to build two flat mountains. On top of the left, if its posible, i would make a rock and a bandit spotter behind it looking for the train. The right backround mountain would be a corner, with enterance to a train tunnel. It would merge with your existing forward right mountain build. I would place some dynamite around the tunnel's enterance and another bandit hiding and waiting.

Does Lego think kids are retarded?
I was building the new burger truck and it listed each piece individually instead of the usual listing out a part with a ×2 and so on.
Can today's kids not do their 1 times table? Are kids today getting dumber or does Lego just think kids are dumb?

The reason very early Halo mega plastic was low quality was the bad plastic mixes they used (speckle purple and marbled green), they fixed it after 2 years. Pyrates and Dragons were high quality too.
Lego's brown and gold still cracks I don't know if it's incompetence or lack of care.

I only have purple covvie weapons right now (don't think I'll get blue as I loosely base my collection around Halo 2/3)

BrickTactical recently updated the purple colour, so I had to order replacements for my elites (which have yet to arrive) but here's a comparison for reference; when it comes to shine, I'd say they're slightly duller when compared to official Lego blasters & even BrickArms, but they're pretty nice overall; they definitely don't feel like cheap dogshit

I'd recommend the plasma pistol/rifle & beam rifle; the covenant carbine & needler might interfere with brick-built covvies, but that's based on the design you use/what weapon you give what covenant (example, the carbine won't work with the elite design I used, and the needler doesn't work with the grunt design unless I move the 1x1 clip up the arm a bit)

I have 1 of almost every BT Halo weapon, so if you want close up pics of any just let me know - I was thinking of making a comparison video on YouTube but I'm lazy and don't like talking

I was around when Mega had Pyrates and the other Dragon themes, and I also had some Halo sets later on; they were kino, but will never hold a candle to Halo Lego

Unfortunately, I can't. I've tried forever in Studio to get rid of that cheese slope to curved slope interface, and it always remains. Using headlight bricks for a half plate offset puts the cheese slopes too low, and also makes the bumper lose some structural integrity.

I might try that tomorrow, but when I make the front end too big (either tall or long), it starts to look like a front-engined car. Like in picrel, I tried making the front end just one plate higher, and it looks like a Datsun 240Z.

Since the minifigs are almost all made there anyways now, they have gotten really good at printing and quality. You almost can't tell the real ones from fakes, which makes lego speculators livid and makes me lol. plastic quality can't get any worse.

Why the fuck LEGO makes star wars sets every fucking year over and over and over since 1999 but they never made Indiana Jones into an evergreen as well?
Indy got 2 short runs. One in 2008 and then one last year with only 3 sets as they cancelled 4th one. Meanwhile star wars gets 10 sets EVERY FUCKING YEAR until you puke.
Both are Lucasfilms so licensing is not an issue there. LEGO lazyness and retardation is.

Somehow they were able to turn Harry Potter into another non-stop theme with new version of Hogwarts train all the time but Indy never got love it deserved and proper redesigns of classic movie sets.

Lego does what sells. Nobody gives a fuck about Indy anymore which is why the only set that sold was the dust collector for adults. Kids still like Star Wars, (female) kids still like Harry Potter, nobody cares about Indiana Jones, the new movie bombing was the final nail in the coffin.

Because there's far more sets you can make out of a theme like Star Wars than you can with Indiana Jones. Even when you limit yourself to what was around in 2008 when Indy 4 was brand new you only had 4 Indy movies and a few games to work from versus 6 live action star wars movies, an animated one, an animated series, a multitude of games, and a fuckton of Expanded Universe books/comics/etc to get shit from. Not to mention Star Wars is vehicle heavy, while Indiana Jones is more playset heavy.

Also I low key want an action figure (could be bigger) of a Lego character like a Kai or Lloyd that could match what the characters do on the show. Thanks yo. That Scary Pirate Island is a great set. I built the version in my photo using parts from 3 sets of Scary Pirate Island, the Pirate Playground GWP and random spare parts. But the regular Scary Pirate Island GWP is pretty great "as is" for a background add-on. I just had the extras and wanted to make it more substantial.

I voted for both that Imperial Trading Post set and the Western Town. After the fact I realized they were .are by the same e designer. He's real good. But as a Pirate fag, I'm rooting for the Teading Post more. I also voted for that Neptune ship which was sick as hell

I think lego investing is bollocks on most sets but one that I've noticed in the past four to five years is that lego is going through a weird transition phase. Minifig sets sell but not like art fag normie sets. It's a weird fad that lego has been heavily leaning into but if you look at some indicators like amazon, art fag non minifigure sets are outselling the old style minifig sets by the thousands. i took a bunch of transparent cheese slopes and placed them on my table in the pattern i wanted. i then very carefully slid the wall over the assembly, filled in the blank spaces, lifted it up and alligned them properly using a plate behind the glass. it took 3 attempts of 30 minutes each, quite a while but the result is very satisfying ^^
picrel is my first successfull attempt for a different church which i later converted into the one you see in the western town :)

Actually you can see elements that made their way into the heraldry of the Black Falcons and the Black Knights in the heraldry of these little guys. I really did like the more detailed and "serious" looks of the Dragons megablocks, even though they weren't that great for actually building stuff. they had some cool play functions built in and the dragons and all the weapons. working catapults, balistas, electronics... and the dark fantasy theming was pretty damn cool
it's crazy that there's barely even any good photos of these online nowadays. I remember they used to be quite popular

That model is shit. You can't play with it, it's just a dust collector. The original build is a much better playset, even with its space inner detail. A better use of buying multiple sets would be 1 set as the original and then another built as a MOC of some buildings to stand along side the castle. If it's not playable, it's no good.

2,7k so far, right now the model is just a "sketch". It's mostly hollow with techniques figured out for each part. When the "butt" is done, will start clearing it out and make proper more sturdy connections, as now I'm constantly changing proportions of each element. I think it's going to be around 6-7k parts when finished.

I got many Metal Slug builds waiting to be ordered. It sucks I'm forced to build most of them grey instead of olive green. They look so awesome in green...

Black Falcons don't have that much yellow on their castles but the worst part is all the newshit colors (dark blue, dark green, olive) without much or any standard colors (blue, green). And obviously blay and reddish brown are gay but they are a given. Get rid of the excessive yellow, replace the dark blue with blue, replace some of the olive and dark green with regular green, then it might start to look somewhat okay

the instruction does say to mount it on the blue brick, but not in the lever-stopping position
that's really cool, the lever-flopping was the only flaw I thought this set had, it's otherwise the absolute perfect small adventurers set. great aesthetics, subject matter, no unnecessary additions and even has that hidden chest in the statue

The triangular part of the building should be flush with the back part, but due to the shaping it sticks out a bit; I had it flush before I extended the walls to fit the pillars, so I'm not sure if I should just continue with it or what - I think it's an overall good build, I just have an issue with the fact the building isn't completely aligned
