Hes very worth 30 anon. Hes very solidly built in all 3 modes and he transforms elegantly 8nto each mode from the other mode. Yes hes got that frontal cockpit thing bit I couldnt give a shit as the rest of him isnt very realistically accurate anyways. The one downside, at least I consider it so, is his whacky ass energon hulk hands. This being said you can literally just store them away and never see them again, they are completely unnecessary to the entire figure.

But I have no attachment to G1 Blitzwing. Not for lack of trying; I've read all of Marvel US+UK and Gen2, the War Within comics, everything IDW (sans All Hail Megatron and Costa's run), and of course seen the 80s cartoon. He was a non-entity in basically every single comic I read, and while he was a fun goon in the show, I mean, everyone was a fun goon and Blitzwing kinda didn't stand out next to em (IMO). Got nothing against him, just feel he'd only be in my collection to fill out ranks/stand in the background...
...also I think his yellow helmet is ugly, sorry.

TFA Blitzwing has the more interesting character design with the German soldier aesthetic, and the faces + elemental blasts are fun gimmicks that made him way more memorable and notable to me.

Literally all they need to do is copy the g1 toy engineering, that's all they need to fucking do. That's basically what MFT did and it looks fine. Not perfect, they could tweak it to be a little better, but FINE.

I don't understand why with astrotrain they decided to basically do the same thing as the original toy, which worked fine even though it was kinda fat and ugly, but with blitzwing they felt the need to reinvent the wheel and completely fuck it up

They're the same Targetmasters that came with Needlenose, just painted silver. Apparently they're named Cleansweep and Ozone, fits with Windsweeper's desire to clean and sanitize everything around him. Really wish we weren't back to slabmasters, I doubt we'll see them again with articulation.

This figure is really something in-hand. Pictures dont do it justice at all. This has to be the first transformer in history that everything tabs in securely. Every part’s transformation is so intuitive. I figured out all 5 of them with no instructions at all and it was so fun and satisfying.

gotta say though this... looks misproportioned. everything above the waist is fine with itself, everything below the waist is fine with itself, but the two are not meeting right. and if you simply scaled down the legs-and-hips part, the torso would be a mite short. so you kinda need to shrink the bottom half AND extend his chest out. the actual chest itself, the plate and the little abs.. look kind of small.

The problem for me with female TFs is that there were rarely ever any in the early days, most female designs are from the last 10 years, and I really dislike most TF designs from the 2010s: they're all boring humanoids, with perfect human proportions and barely any altmode kibble. I like Strika because her design is funky and weird, and I like a lot of the GoBots because they actually look like fucking robot cars. Just give me more interesting and weird designs, I don't care about anything else.

Out of everything you said, this is the most egregious.
But all kidding aside, the main reason there were so few female characters in the early days was because the show was aimed at boys and the general thinking is that boys don't want to see girl characters in shows because they don't like playing with female toys. Which is mostly true. Usually female characters were introduced into shows or any media aimed at male audiences, was to make it seem less gay that a whole bunch of guys were hanging around together all the time (thank you Fredric Wertham).

And outside of TF, I was also still fond of characters like Gali and Hahli, X-Men Storm, Batgirl, etc etc. then again I'm of the kids group that grew up with Kim Possible and Powerpuff Girls etc, so maybe this sorta stuff is more normalized for us, i dunno.

I don't collect that scale and IDW, thankfully, is on the rear view window for most of the future toylines but I wish we could get an Ultra Magnus that came with a bunch of weapons and stupid gimmicks.

Usually minor differences, RID Autobots tend to have more insignias than the CR figures and some figures like the build team have different paint applications.

Rail Racer is probably the most dramatic since they swapped out all of the transparent painted plastic for opaque pieces.

At that, what are the explicitly-male traits of basically any classic G1 design? Usually, it's all in the faces, and that's it. They're all just literal brick shithouses. Take any G1 character with an unmasked face and make it more feminine, and it will work perfectly as a female character - I guarantee it.
The only exception I personally can recall atm is Optimus Prime himself, since his windows and grill were intentionally meant to evoke ripped pecs and abs.

Another good example is Minerva. The animation accentuated her femininity sure, but in toy form she was literally the exact same mold as Nightbeat and did nothing other than have a more feminine face, and it worked.
Personally I've always just viewed G1/UT blocky designs as dudes wearing bulky armor, anyway, so personally it takes very little to sway me into finding a TF believably female. Even moreso with the Bay designs being incredibly alien, you could tell me any of the Decepticons were female without changing anything and I'd not bat an eye.

I do think it gets a worse rep than it deserves, but it definitely has flaws. The combined mode is the most solid of anything from CW onwards, aside from Legacy Menasor which kinda cheats, but the individual bots leave a bit to be desired, especially the two leg bots that suffer from having those massive thighs attached to them. The combined mode is also lacking in some areas, not just with the big gap in the back, but the crotch area could be a lot better. The combiner hands are downright atrocious, with less articulation than the standard CW hands, the inability to hold anything tightly, and very hollow palms. And then there's the fucking stickers, which you need for at least the wings to not look like shit, and even if you apply them perfectly, they still start peeling off even without much handling. So it's a very solid combiner that looks decent (from the front), but is lacking in a lot of areas.

Modern female TFs have the same problem, but at least they bother to, I dunno, add wings or a couple wheels on their backs, now.

Windblade, Strongarm, Shadow Striker, and by very slight technicality I'll count Slipstream, as though she was invented in Animated, she didn't get much of a personality beyond "evil" until the 2010s really (even tho TFA is still my favorite version of her, nonetheless).
Nautica's indeed obscure, but has a healthy-sized group of fans that really love her, which is more than Firestar (I called her Flamewar in my previous post by accident), Moondancer, and even Chromia can say, despite Chromia also having been subtly pushed as Windblade's friend in 2010s stories, so yeah I'll say Nautica counts, and for the same reason I'll include Flamewar too. Nobody cares for Victorion though, you're definitely right about that.
Also as much as I hate the Thirteen Primes in Aligned etc, they are indeed pretty prominent, and Solus Prime is one of the most frequently referred to (if only by proxy due to her hammer, typically). So she also counts whether we like it or not.

I think I'll be able to fix the former with very careful applications of clear orange paint, and the latter with a bit of gold brushing that should spiff it up at least from a distance.
that said, the kingdom one has wronger paint apps on the hands and chest, and missing paint apps elsewhere.. plus it comes with black spider legs, so you have to swap them with the Buzzworthy blackarachnia to get her looking close to show-accurate.

Mine from childhood is very... Well-Loved, and one of his broken bits for a decade has been the tab in his wrist that the blaster pegs into.
I bought a new figure with an unbroken tab but no gun, as I still have my old lad's gun, but I'm having a hell of a time plugging the blaster in. Is it just me? My blaster's port doesn't seem damaged at all, nor does this other figure's tab. What should I do, try heating up the plastic on the blaster to make it softer?

hmmm, I mean I wouldn't hate it but it's not really what I want out of a Roadbuster. I think G2 General Optimus Prime is the best choice for a Roadbuster retool. The T30 one was supposedly going to have a cancelled Gutcruncher retooling/redeco (green and yellow) but I don't think that'd have been particularly good. You also got that Cloud Energon Ironhide recolor of the T30 one, which would work.

If I remember correctly, Thomas and Friends were about the same size as the wooden trains I had as a kid. So even at Core Class, they would be too large to work with such trains and wouldn't have a market competition. Both Hasbro and Mattel allow other companies to make t-shirts and other merch of their characters they don't do.
