>>10919677That's not even remotely comparable. Our issue is that the extreme height increases don't actually add to the story, and is clearly an indicator of power/significance, at the cost of immersion. I remember reading the beginning of dark imperium trilogy, and the scene where guilliman got injured, and I believe it was a single space marine dragging him away, built the goofiest image of a 10 year old dragging away an adult. The later scene of him putting on his armor didn't mention any stools or what-not, but it was regular people, I believe, putting on his armor for him. Imagine an 8 year old trying to dress an adult, having to bring stepping stools or even little ladders to be able to reach up to daddy.
There's also the part about the lion being a highly skilled swordsman, and when he returned, a space marine verified it was him by fighting him with a sword, which would be similar to like how Yoda looked fighting dooku; silly, because the lion doesn't need to be particularly skilled to have a huge advantage over the space marine due to his superior size.
Think of it this way; what would have changed if primarchs and the emperor were only slightly bigger than space Marines? Think a head, tops. Primaris being slightly taller than space Marines prior was criticized for being the shallow "power creep" that it was, so why are primarchs exempt? The argument can be made that Horus getting taller after getting backed by chaos makes sense, because it can help push how monstrous, both literally AND figuratively, he has become.
Like, I'm a tall dude at 6'3", and I can be described as towering over most people, and whenever I encounter someone just a few inches taller than me, they feel gigantic! You don't gotta add a whole meter to be significantly bigger than others, a few inches does that fine, especially since space Marines are much taller already.
