>>10909883the gist of it is that michael is an actual autistic fanboy, and as such has exacting tastes. The toy companies do not meet his standards, so he unleashes his autism on them and criticizes them. This led to a conflict with a lot of other toy reviewers, who get to be buddy buddy with toy companies and lucrative sponsorship deals for being overly positive.
This sort of came to a head with his beef with "spector creative," the guy who used to work for Mattel and headed up Mattycollector. Matty Collector was a giant scam and flop of a toy subscription service that ripped off customers, but Spector Creative insisted it was the only way to ever make He-Man toys. He doesn't work in the industry anymore but makes his money on youtube basically telling people that the toy industry is doing fine and things like crowdsourcing, poor distribution, etc are all necessary and good.
So Retroblasting and he got into a slapfight on social media and the Retroblasting guy was a huge jerk to him. /toy/ has a habit of always siding with whoever is the most powerful in an argument, so siding with companies over somebody who criticizes companies makes them feel like they're on the winning side, especially if the guy they're siding against is a thin-skinned autist.
