no, at most, i could get some styrene sheets, cut them into neat little uniform feathers, glue them together, sand them down to rounded edges... but they still wouldn't have the natural round curve of a tail fan. nor would they have the etched-in feather detail, I don't have a .2 mm etching tool for that...
Naw this is a please help us china situation. But they've been real lazy about fixing transformers lately.

Now that you mention it, she should scale perfectly with Core-class characters - she's supposed to be big enough to grab Sideswipe and Strongarm with each talon, and for Strongarm to hang off of her back when they were fighting with her.

I'm trying to find alternate DLC since I'm wanting the legs to be more traditional, the leg extensions for masterdominus are the only one I can find with a swivel but they aren't ideal, can't think of any other parts like that.

With Tidal Wave coming, I really don’t see any other Titan Class toys that people will be willing to spend over $200 USD for.

Especially with Unicron already HasLab. Primus most likely will one day be as well.

They should just put the Titan Class on hold for a few years until they’re ready to do new versions of the old ones

They can sell Fortress and Metro re-dos, T30 Metro is mostly G1 but with extra greebles (He isn't based on the wfc games, only his soundclips were taken from there), so people would buy a new version, also a Fortress with a fully dedicated mold.

They did two Titans from the Unicron Trilogy.
Are there any other series besides G1 and UT with popular Titans?
(Don’t count Cyberverse. It’s too soon and their Iaconus toy came out just in 2020.)

It is a mystery thing. The first comic book appearance is based on the RotF toy while the later is based on Cyberverse, who is also somewhere between the two. It is a mystery since allegedly there were over a hundred designs made for Evergreen, but only a handful were actually shown off directly. So there might be a "continuity neutral" Lockdown that Hasbro consults.

Really liking Missing Link Convoy. First impression was a bit marred due to how such a simple transformation gets more complicated by the fact that now you need to move the arms out before transforming the legs (so you need to be careful that the elbows don't bump into the gas tanks and scratch the chrome) and the extremely tight swivel joints on the upper legs and splitting crotch that made going to truck mode a pain because some wheels just refused to touch the ground until I managed to get everything exactly were it should. You really need to forget the G1 toy transformation that's been ingrained in your mind for decades and relearn how to transform thing one properly.

But now that I'm used to it annd the joints are not as tight, it's a really fun and unique toy to have.

I was talking about that joint, yeah.
What is easier to miss is that the feet can move upwards, making a heel spur piece move with them so it stays stable.

okay a giant dragonformer.. but only if it's a wing-a-ling dragon, otherwise the titan mass on, say, a standard quadruped dragon... would make it too big. and WAY too big in robot mode. and huge wings have never transformed well.
you've got like, a roc (birds are hard at the best of times), a re'em (boring to look at, basically just a giant cow), most of the other giant stuff strains belief a bit too hard for the 'i scanned this' setting.

Ah I thought you meant the swivel to move the legs out. I suppose I should be glad I didn't have the G1 Prime because otherwise the changes would really bother me, I watched a review of the original and the way the legs auto seperate on it is super smooth compared to the non locking rickety method of the ML.

Animated Omega Supreme. He's basically the #1 requested Titan after Tidal Wave at this point, besides G1 Fort Max and Metroplex redos.
I think they should do Unicron and Primus anyway. Haslab Unicron is ugly as sin, especially with that shell on his back. They could do it better, just not so big as the Haslab. Just say it's UT Unicron or summin, and repaint him into G1 years later.

Not only that but those splitting panels feels flimsy, I make sure to grab them before moving the legs, otherwise I can see them breaking.

That was just a fancy way of saying 'cyborg', honestly. Or rather, specifying 'living cells augmented with cybernetic bits' as a distinction from their previous 'robot wearing a skinsuit' forms.
Still, there seems to be some conflicting definitions even in the bios, since I remember a few of the Beast Wars toys from much earlier using the same term despite very clearly not being the same thing as post-reformatted characters in the later series.

Yeah, like you said, that tail was already too short for a falcon, and it's most DEFINITELY too short for a raven; it's a shame, too - a longer, more accurate tail would have helped hide the robot crotch better for all three (excluding Terrorsaur) uses of the mold.
What I find more baffling, though, is that they went through the trouble of giving her new wings with those metal 'feather' strips on them to match her RiD appearance, but left the original tail with Airazor's organic looking feathers there instead of at least giving her one with a more jagged look to match.

firstly give him a better weapon. secondly ditch the nightmarish whatever that is mode. thirdly get rid of the extendo-arm shit for the horse head (so it can have a proper neck) BUT, you can still have long-distance pony-bites via a cable or something. also have a normal small horse mouth, but have it unhinge into a huge sharptoothed clamp for robot mode. Because otherwise, it needs to just move further up his arm and get the fuck out of the way.
uh, thirdly, more continuous abdomen. and finally, split the giant horsebutt-pauldron into two so both shoulders can be horsebutted. ideally with a hinge on each piece so it isn't just a hollow thing from the back.

we're supposed to be getting a $25 one this year but no one knows what it looks like yet.
They're also about to roll out this years movie toys, which might look more g1 than previous toys, because this is an all-animated prequel movie.
also at the end of the year will be a $55 leader class, which is a repack of the earthrise/kingdom version, in honor of Transformers 40th anniversary. This is the current "definitive" version.
However, around October, there's a Commander class, ($90) which is supposed to be even better, but we haven't seen what it looks like yet, and that's quite a steep price increase from the other one.

Re-Release it a sixth time, then. I was an angsty middle schooler in the early 2010s who thought TF started sucking after Animated got canceled and DotM was boring, and didn't get back into TF until Siege.
If the panels on the old mold lined up poorer than the Sandstorm retool, then fine, re-retool it back so it can line up better but still transform about the same, damn? I'd be upset at the lack of ankles or a more accurate face sculpt, or as many 5mm ports as today, but I'd take it.

because there's a ton of comic characters that would get toys BEFORE they redo a toy that was literally designed in conjunction with the comic creator.

Legacy has given us a whole slew of first time toys, from jhiaxus, to tarn, to devcon, to ariel, and even got-danged senator shockwave

There's very little reason to revisit a particularly well done version of a character that ALSO has SEVERAL other versions you could design from (War within, Stormbringer/all hail megatron, WFC concept art)

I'm not sure they've ever revisited a thrilling 30 design, only the characters, but to be fair, hardly any of the 30 were new designs

we see full grown adults in the show and she's no where near that.
also, Koji is pretty clearly an elementary school student, meaning he's likely 10 years old. AI was supposed to be a bit bigger than him, so you could argue she was closer to 13 in physical age.
her model sheet doesn't indicate she's that curvy either, just that she has a small waist.
The show was just filled with off-model shots.

In all fairness, are any of those other designs as iconic as either his G1 or Roche designs? Please don't read that as me trying to undermine them or people who like them, not at all; just that I feel you're maybe undervaluing the significance of this one a tad. Also "revisiting designs that had older toys made with the og designer's oversight"... kind of describes 99% of Legacy, doesn't it? It's not been a perfect bundle, with Armada SS and HS and the TFA/TFP/RiD15/CV guys all being blehhh, but the later Armada guys, G1+BW including Japanese ones, and especially Galaxy Force have mostly all been super solid refinements of the earlier toys. I don't see why the same can't be done for a comic redesign, s'all.
And yeah totally, you're right that they're more likely to do characters not yet seen in toy form (personally at the edge of my seat for DW Fallen next year), but eh, again: Roche Springer hasn't had a toy in over a decade and yet still goes for crazy prices online despite all the toy's shortcomings because demand is that high, and HasTak's definitely not shying away from doing G1 Springer repeatedly lately (Siege, the Amazon repaint, and now a SS Leader). Why not shake it up with a different design, lol?

If she scanned her in 2000, she should be around 16-17 (the cybertron exchange program started in 2003 and Red Alert wouldn't stick around for long) since police officers need to be over 20 to start the job, apparently. If it's not a show or movie design, don't expect to get more than 1 toy, pretty much ever.
It was a complete shock when they announced Studio Series Gamer edition precisely for that reason.
And THAT took 13 years to come back around, and at least had an entire product line of similar designs from the same source.

So unless they do a specific Nick Roche design subline, it's really, really unlikely.

Comics just don't get that treatment, cause they just aren't that popular.

That sounds even less likely mang. And... I mean cmon, in a world where we got Jhiaxus and Tarn followed by an entire Pre-War IDW subline back-to-back-to-back, I don't see this as unlikely at all anymore. Especially when Last Stand of the Wreckers is probably one of the most well-regarded TF comics ever released, and it basically being treated as the easy gateway into IDW's comics overall, by most.

I'm not a big fan of 3D print upgrade kits, they just don't look good to me. I like the DNA design stuff because they blend in such a way that they look like they're truly part of the original toy. I got the upgrade kit for Kingdom Dinobot and the new raptor hands feel like they're the exact same plastic as the rest of the toy.

Lio Kaiser needs to be a haslab to be done justice. Road Cesare "could" work at retail budget but I wouldn't want that. Landcross is tricky due to all the different little vehicles that make it, no to mention that each two vehicle combine to make a bot.

You and I both know it is by far the most feasible option if we want the breast animals, then again they are just little chest pieces with fold out animal limbs and gun barrels, this also covers the complexity required for the combinations too though. Maybe more like, half way between deluxe and voyager, size wise.

The torsos aren't that complicated is the thing, because it's made up of two and the arms still make up a chunk of the top half, the entire robot is divided kind of equally across the 6. Leo needs to fold in half and the nosecone down, Jag folds and splits. Drill and Kill are just their vehicle modes with thighs folded out (requiring a bit more bulk to house those), and feet, and Hell and Guy are the legs split by the hips so one leg becomes an arm on each side while the other leg connects the two together in the torso. Finish off with the head which can probably be housed in Leo and that's LioKaiser. All doable under a Voyager budget for each.

But yeah, when it comes to the animals, they don't need to be complicated at all, I think you might even be able to get away with making them entire single pieces for their main body, with grooves on the robots torsos for the legs to slot into, and maybe fold out barrels, but budgeting wise Voyager still covers the requirements for all of them, pretty much.

I got Armada Megatron. He's pretty damn good; the shoulders are definitely a big weakness (which is why I ordered an upgrade kit) but honestly that aside I love him. He feels like the original in a good way, enough that at times I've gone "Oh yeah, he can move his legs now!".
Aside from the shoulders (which I'll be fixing when the upgrade comes in) I wish he had his knife, and also the turret not being able to spin the full 360 is a weird choice, but honestly? I'm really pleased with him. Major nostalgia points too as I had and loved the original toy. He's not as good as Armada Prime, who is genuinely one of the best things HasTak has made in a while, but to be fair he's also cheaper than Prime.

anyone with 3d printing experience wanna tell us like, A) how you set distances in a CAD file (does it have a built in ruler?) and B) how well it works setting a peg/hole at exactly 5mm in a CAD file when you print it? Does it perhaps need half a mil of extra space to work that way? are transformers 5mm ports not as precise as we think?

The gate lock inside the turret is super cool easy to just cut out with a hobby knife, there's a vid on youtube showing you how. I did it and the turret spins 360 now, it's a must-do mod for him IMO. Love him.

in terms of "Large" fembots, TFPrime Solus Prime was, by all accounts, slightly above Predaking sized. Her 1-handed hammer is used with 2 hands by Ultra Magnus, and when Predaking grabs it, you can see he probably needs to be about 25% bigger to wield it as an actual smithing hammer

your hammer handle size relates to your body size, because it needs to be swung at a certain angle over and over to get things right.

Just in general, I'd just like to see what they could do with a more feminine body-type at a larger scale/budget really.
I personally think some of Shion Humine's fembots strike a nice balance between feminine/curvy and not just being a Barbie doll with an extra layer of packaging shaped like a car on top. But I am a weirdo so It probably wouldn't have much mainstream appeal but I can dream damnit!

Yeah this is a pretty good concept for what I'd imagine an updated Road Caesar would look like. the individual members are pretty simplistic, not much more complex than a Micromaster, or as shown here, a CW deluxe. all you need to do to improve the proportions of the combined mode is make the arms longer and not have the hips splay out like they do on the original toy, which even the candy toy managed on whatever budget candy toys have. I think if they really can't do it as 2 deluxes + a Voyager you could do it as 3 Voyagers

Just got Bouldercrash despite knowing about his stick-in-the-ass problem. Boy, uhh, they really should have and could have made this into an articulated tail or have it fold up in half. - Acid Storm as Starscream (cut from film after he stormed out)
- Thundercracker as Starscream, Skywarp, and himself (and given different colors in editing, something Acid Storm was not happy to hear was an option the whole time)
- Sky-Byte as Metalhawk
- Aileron as Windblade

The whole movie was commissioned by President Starscream as an ego boost, but after he confessed to all his crimes and was arrested, and after seeing how much of a shitshow the movie turned out to be, Starscream decided to just have Thundercracker assassinated. The attempt failed.

Funny you should mention AHM, because that's the comic that started the chain of events that led to this.
- The Autobot-Decepticon war in IDW1 ended in AHM, with the defeat of Megatron in it. After a short period of unrest and dust-settling on Earth (the "ongoing" series), Cybertron officially enters post-war peacetime (to varying success). It's then that Starscream manages to get himself elected leader of Cybertron.
- AHM had Thundercracker betray the Decepticons by stopping their attempted nuking of New York. This was in line with his original G1 bio description, which has him questioning the dishonorable Decepticon ways. Skywarp shoots him for it, stranding him under a pile of New York rubble for years. He passes the time by watching soap operas on a TV he patches together, becoming enamoured with human entertainment.

I feel like people are transforming his tail flaps wrong. they definitely come bent wrong in the package, and once you carefully bend them back the right way, each subsequent transformation is smooth and puts no stress on them. whether you pull them out to the side or leave them more clustered inward (i love that all of his kibble gives you options)

you could not have tires on a vehicle that transform like that, they wouldn't work in the vehicle mode. tires are made of flexible material, and would not be able to seal up if they broke apart while transforming.. and they can't just BE your legs, or have arms coming out of them.

- First of all, only the Legends Wheelie has limbs actually coming out of the tire. That can be excused because it's a tiny budget toy. Get glasses.

it's one thing to have wheels with no axle, because it's easy to imagine there's one of the transformer's many motors attached to each wheel. hell you could even have him doing some maneuvers that a real car couldn't, like wheels turning in ways they shouldn't with an axle... but it's another entirely to have a metal part lead into a tire and then another tire and then you have some structure holding them together like a fucking vise.

These two are so satisfying together. the perfect modern updates of these characters; both readily available on Amazon. The first time he was anything, he was bright, shiny chrome. Silver is just a compromise to avoid having to coat an entire toy in flake-prone vac-metal. But gray Megatron is literally just a result of penny-pinching, both in the animation and the toys themselves.

Silver and Gray have the same tone, unless you think there is only one "true gray" and are trying to weasel your way into saying light gray is silver

I will say the pre-rendered cutscene WFC megatron was an off white/grey color like the 2010 toy. In the gameplay however…silver. You can clearly see the reflective highlights

Only issue I think I have with this guy is that the forearm tabs suck and don't stay in and that the mushroom pegs are nice and tight but also push themselves out. Like the right wrist keeps popping out when using it. His one arm also came off. It's not a huge deal, but annoying. A very nice rendition he is. Reminds me of Tarn in terms of posability. Wish he had a few more paint apps too.

I also got Silverbolt the other day and it looks like Hasbro fired the one pin too early so it falls out but CMDStore is replacing the figure when they get stock. It's still usable but I just know one day I'm going to lose the pin and not be able to find it.

Even though they can’t have G1 Megatron turn into a gun anymore, they should still have someway to give him his accessories like the stock and silencer to form a canon station.

This is one of the reasons the Megatron toy was chosen as the opposite to Optimus Prime with his trailer/roller accessories.

I can't get the rearmost wheels to touch the ground in vehicle mode though, and the blue flap just won't sit flush with the side panels. Is that normal or am I transforming it wrong?

Apparently there is a factory issue with some of this figure where he won't sit flush in vehicle mode. Sorry, anon, I don't know if there is a fix.

in fairness, there's a weirdly high percentage of color names that are 'some kind of red or green' that have bizarrely specific, similar, and hard-to-remember names. like vermillion vs viridian. for some reason those specific colors, when those are the two people have the hardest time distinguishing in the first place

I have Premium - I don't pay shipping, and I spend enough there to justify the subscription.
Doesn't matter, though - this is exactly what happened with both Cosmos and galaxy shuttle (and while I got Cosmos eventually, I'm STILL missing GS). So I have a question. Transformers with Car alt modes tend to have pretty standard transformations. Legs either fold up or retract in to form the rear, hood or grill often becomes chest, arms become the sides or fold under.

Are there any carformers which do things radically differently? Like transform in a way you really didn't expect.

If they made a new Powermaster Optimus/Super Ginrai, how do you think they'll go about it? Well, the point of the SS is to (at least attempt to) be screen accurate; as fun as the blue or clear fire repaints of The Fallen look, he never appeared with either deco in the actual movie.
Still, paint scheme aside, the SS is a pretty fun toy (even if those things that connect his arms to his back pop out often while posing him) and he could've turned out much worse ( lookin' at you, SS RotF Soundwave).

If it's the latter, I'd love a modernized Wolfang, Razorbeast, Dinobot II, and Insecticon/Scarem, among others; if they're doing repaints, than a toy-colors clear version of both Inferno (as much as I hate his new mold) and Tarantulas would be cool, too.
