>>10927566>even Liefield had better sense of anatomy than some of these designsThe thing that a lot of no-draw, armchair critixs don't get is that Liefeld's problem isn't necessarily just anatomy. It's that his art is unappealing. His characters constantly have the same stock poses and angles, have bland expressions, and are drowned in that messy looking hatching that American comics love but makes all the forms look flat.
people appreciate the warped anatomy of Baki and Itagaki because while he's pushing boundaries even more, he does so in a way where the action is dynamic, the rendering is clearly slick and consistent, and even if you can't stand the art there is an engaging(if not spectacular) storytelling aspect that keeps readers engaged.
