>>10933584I just don't get why they keep trying to push Ghostbusters, especially the movie exclusively at the expense of the cartoon that's also relatively popular (or at least I thought it was).
It's not that I love or hate Ghostbusters. It's that they've had this same false start so many times. Diamond did some that may have skyrocketed in aftermarket but didn't seem to do so well at retail. Mattel did their four, dragged out for a couple reissues/variants, before suiciding on the 2016 movie set. They also had a Mego-ish line that went nowhere. Then Hasbro does their four, plus some, but not all, of Afterlife, before also throwing in the towel. Hasbro's Kenner reissues also seemed to wither on the vine. They did a kids line around Afterlife that also withered. Or was replaced by a Frozen Empire line that's never going to see a second wave either. Now they're going to do O-rings, starting with the four movie guys first again?
On the one hand, I think Plasma Series could've done alright if they'd pushed through the 20 or so figures needed to do the two original movies and Afterlife.
On the other hand, how many times do you have to do the four movie Ghostbusters and have it fizzle before you maybe don't rush into yet another attempt of the exact same strategy?
