Hell I'd even go so far as to say it was just peak 4chan in general. But here on /toy/ specifically, things were just better then they are now. Back then Anons actually seemed to enjoy toys and talking about toys, where as now days it's more cynical, more people bitching about things. Back in 2009 there was excitement for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen... not so much for the movie but for the toys, like Depth-Charge McBoatshoes and Toasterbot, but there wasn't any faggots bitching about "shills" or "slop" or any other shitty autistic buzzwords from seething cunts unhappy with the fact that people liked something they didn't.
