It's how a small toy company like McFarlane Toys was able to afford the third or fourth biggest toy license in the world (DC).
Also, the price for the minis are like 10x what the sets cost new. 30-50 bucks, and some sets go for hundreds of bucks when they were originally 10-$20. So my nephews can buy a couple consoles or decades worth of season passes, considering how many sets i bought for them.
