>>11013090>What's the most money you made selling toys?I don't buy or sell a lot, and I don't "invest", but I've had to sell a handful of things over the years that turned out to be surprisingly valuable. I'm not into toys for profit, so generally I only sell something when I really don't have room for it, or I desperately need the money.
The biggest profit I made was probably on Palisades Muppets. I didn't want to sell these at all, but it was the holidays and I needed money and space. Ended up selling a bunch of figures and the backstage playset for 500 bucks or so. Shame is that they're probably worth double that, now. The only one I kept was my special edition "Rainbow Connection" Kermit, picrel.
Made a solid wad on the Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles figures put out by Resaurus back in the Dreamcast days. Again, I probably could have made more, but I was just happy to have the extra cash and pass them along to someone who would appreciate them more.
The biggest surprise profit I've made, though? Selling 1/18 scale diecast. I had a collection of various stuff from 20-ish years ago, mostly TV and movie cars like the Mach 5, KITT, the General Lee, the Bluesmobile, etc., that all went for 70-90 bucks a piece. I wasn't expecting them to be worth much and was just going to donate them until I saw prices on ebay. I guess there simply haven't been any releases for a lot of desireable cars in 1/18 scale for the past couple of decades, so collectors are forced to hunt down old shit and pay late tax.
