i know this question seems dumb but: why exactly are more modern figures better than old ones exactly? Its not like in video games, where graphics get better with upcoming technology, right?

sculpting & paint applications are not exactly new and havent made any technological advancements as far as i know. Placement of joints are just a matter of design, so what exactly is it?

cant be about money investment either, since naruto here is actually cheaper than the old one back in the day.
