Why do some fags hate reissues of older toys? I love it because it gives me a chance to buy a new version of an older figure for a cheap price

This and with Starwars vintage collectors they were worried that reissues would make lost accessories like stormtrooper blasters go down in value. I actually have been seeing a drop in the value on the vintage starwars market, so sucks for them

Probably because the boomers that care about collecting those are dying off, I’m a huge Star Wars fan and don’t really have a whole lot of interest in collecting those original figures, the newer ones are just so much better. I just didn’t grow up with them.

See, the star wars stuff I kind of get, because some people might try to circulate the new stuff as the old stuff, including the highly sought after accessories, so collectors were worried that the market would get flooded with "official" knock offs, but that problem could be solved by having the new accessories have a small variation or tell that makes it obvious that they're the new stuff.

The idea of retro figures started back in 1995. Kenner made a 4 pack that came with Han, Luke, Chewie and Darth and I thought that was good enough.
Vintage is/was a smart idea to capture the feel with modern day figures.

Reissues are ok if it's stuff that deserves a reissue. I'm not sure why Hasbro wants to do random characters like Yak Face, Zukkus and 4-LOM though.

That was my attitude in the 2000s when I was collecting Star Wars. Even though I had a bunch of the originals as a little kid, I'd rather buy the more accurate looking modern figs. Nostalgia is overrated.

Kinda the same thing that's been disappointing me with G.I. Joe Classified. So much of it relies on nostalgia now for the designs instead of trying something new. All because the boomers got their collective panties in a twist over the first wave looking too much like "Fortnite".

I don't mind rereleases of older figures, but goddamn do I hate when they take newer characters and make them in that shitty style. The only reason toys were made like that was due to limitations of technology at the time. To intentionally make something suck to pander to nostalgia is retarded. Make them in the old visual style but for fuck's sake, give them better articulation. Otherwise they're a waste of materials and money. They're also not worth more than $3-$5 but it looks like they charge over $10 for them which is absolutely not worth it.
