I want to build my RC from a kit

The nostalgia goggles are firmly welded on.
So as kid there was no way I could afford a hotshot II or frog or whatever, and now I can.
The prices have also objectively come down.
I am not really interested in the "fastest RC car" I want the XP in building it and upgrade pathway. Tamiay tt02 B has a massive parts libary, and I can probally build it up myself, machine parts or buy.
I think the nostaglia goggles are welded on for a lot of US and tamyia is riding that to some extent. But I am even happy with the box just on my shelf.
It sort of like gunpla but next level becuase you can make it do things.
There is also the learing xp of going well which motor will I buy, which esc and which reciever and which hop ups. Buying a pre configed product does not direct your mind to that.
