The fwoosh was cucked but I miss it, /toy/ is slow as fuck and jannies sided with the trolls a long time ago
reddit isn't even an option
so how much would it cost and it is easy to setup?

If you want to attract the whole of /toy/ so you have more than 10-20 people, don’t just make it cape themed. I do miss forums, and an unwilling to join a discord, I’m sure plenty of people are the same. You’re also running the risk of getting cliquey as well as turning people off if you you allow any kind of off topic politicking, which 4chan users like to do. So you’ll have to have TIGHT moderation.

This. Part of the reason I used Fwoosh for a good chunk of time before the first crash was because you could talk about any toyline even if non-Marvel/DC threads were usually slower. I've never been interested in forums that are specific to a single franchise.

TFW2005 is probably the most popular and active /toy/ related forum in the internet and it is all about one theme, Transformers, so making it Capeshit only doesn't sound too crazy
Also what else would you want to talk about in a forum? Transformers? TFW, Gijoe? Hisstank and Facebook, Anime figures? it would drive away users because weebs suck
Capeshit + SCI-FI sounds good, we don't have a forum like that yet, no place to talk about aliens or TMNT or He-man etc

Don't bother. The collecting community is far too split up now to ever congregate in meaningful numbers at one forum. It's also a lot of work. Hosting, design, upkeep, moderation, etc etc. Are you even able to do all that?

The reason I like /toy/ at all is because of how easy it is to talk about ANYTHING. Its pictorial format between the general list and catalog style is a lot more appealing than an un-previewed text list of topics. Plus, with the lack of need to login, nobody gets stigma/bias depending on your reputation.Also I like how slow this community is anyway, so i don't keep obsessing for days at a time. This place is just as much a hub for all toy news too
