>>11078156Update. Here's the Japan haul of /toy/ related stuff (not pictured are some CDs, candy, souvenirs and various gacha stuff for family and friends). Didn't buy as much as I thought I would honestly, but I still needed to buy another suitcase. The main places I hit were Denden Town (which I wish I explored more but Japan's summer heat is no joke), Akihabara and Nakano Broadway. As you keep going into stores you'll realize you're looking at the same stuff constantly, but every so often you'll find a gem that keeps you going. A fuckton of statues to gawk at but those aren't relevant to this board.
The best stores were without a doubt Mandarake and AmiAmi's tower both in Akihabara. Seeing Mandarake's massive treasure trove stock in person is amazing and with the yen being as weak as it is the deals just get better. AmiAmi has 2 stores. One being a floor of a 10 floor building filled with mostly new stuff and another in a giant tower just for them. The tower had a crazy amount of older stuff for reasonable prices to downright insane prices (I saw figuarts Frieza 4th form 1.0 for $20 USD).
Also no matter where you stay if there's a Book Off nearby, check it out. The farther you are from the main cities the better the deals get. (Hiroshima's Book Off was much better than Akihabara and Shinjuku's Book Off.) I ended up getting Tatoba Combo there before finding the figuarts in AmiAmi. Also if you're a /vr/ guy, the prices of their games is hilariously cheap.
I also didn't mean to come out of this trip with 2 Drossels and 2 Tatoba's. I saw the cheaper Tatoba and Nendo first and snatched them up early. Then ended up finding the figuarts and figma. (Much to my surprise, that's a holy grail for me. My friend ended up getting one too.) Also some advice, if you're looking for something specific from a gacha a lot of stores in Nakano have sections dedicated to buying them individually if you don't feel like dealing with the random aspect for just a little more money.
