Man, I wish. Especially with the 40th going on at the moment. Sadly MEGA is just Pokemon right now. Fallout is suppose to also be coming to MEGA but I haven't seen any concrete leaks yet.

Honestly, I don't know what Mega is thinking. No one cares about G.I. Joe outside of a handful of old dudes who are already loyal to the slop known as Classified. They'll see this and think "bootleg lego G.I. Joe", maybe pick up a few sets on clearance, and that's it.

Found a store on Ali that sells entire cases of these blindbags, wouldn't let me order more than one case of one series but after a week or so it's let me order another so I'll have a case each of two series new to me. Supposedly one is guaranteed two of each possible fig in a case, guess we'll find out.

I'd be interested in GI Joe figures as long as they have the same scale, articulation, and accessory compatibility as COD figures. If they go with Halo scale then my interest would drop immensely. Any word on the Halo figures changing to match COD scale? I know some of the Halo marines are now taller than the spartan figures which really bothers me. I've been hoping they would update Spartans to match Cod figures ever since they first introduced the super articulated Halo figures.

Ebay listings seem either a bit dry or overpriced nowadays tho (gee wonder why). I remember there used to be bootlegs of them on aliex too, do those not exist anymore? Was able to only find one, and it was using slightly remolded pieces at that, so eh.

I OP'ed the last one but it had barely any posts until right before it autosaged off the board, didn't bother starting it up again. Guess it's summer and the core regulars are away, this gen and the army men gen have also been pretty slow. Yeah it's really late to the party for Kre-O, I got most of my stuff on clearance back when they (and Mega) were still in real stores.

Damn, that's really a shame. Was hoping it wouldn't have been too bad, but granted it really was a decade ago now, so I guess I should be happy they're still relatively easy to find on ebay anywho lol. I'll still be picking them up, and eventually make some custom figs, but I'll just have to be doin it slower I guessh. Really wish non-Lego brands could be sold on dedicated sites like bricklink...

Kre-O's GI Joe line largely flew under the radar and this latest attempt at building blocks sets has been laughably bad, no-name company with low-quality parts banking entirely on using the original box art to sell these awful kits. Mega could certainly pull off iconic stuff like the HISS tank and others but there really needs to be a recent/current mass media tie-in to hope for real success.

a new Joe cartoon series (with a video game tie in) would probably give the line the kick in the pants it needs. Also, with Kre-O the figures are just shitty LEGO knock offs. The MEGA figures would actually LOOK LIKE the characters (assuming the same sort of interchangeability of The X-Files, Cod and MotU.
I probably wouldn't buy a HISS for $30 or higher but give me 5-6 COBRA troopers for that price.

There were signs even back then, right after Matty acquired the company they rolled out shrinkflation in the middle of the active wave, dropping one fig but keeping the price, though price creep would follow in short order. It's possible we were a little spoiled, maybe Mega was content with its profit margins before the takeover? They seemed to be doing quite well after the runaway success of Halo and they were just into their second year of CoD, could afford to give us a lot for a little.

like all the other past shortlived MEGA lines, I expect they'll nail the builds and characters onoy for the sets themselves to underwhelm sales wise. unless hasbro and matty go out of their way to promote these I can see them being easilt confuse for these sets >>11088775 which all left a bad taste in joefags mouths'. Im surprised hasbro didnt try leasing out rangers to Mega/Mattel on top of Gi Joe. If you're going to go all in on the intercompany crossover deal stuff, go big or go home. Mega's been pretty good about accessorizing their lines and troop packs have been one of their staple elements from the beginning with Halo, fairly safe bet if/when they decide to commit; after the repeated failures of recent times they may be more cautious and only do a few identifiable sets to test the waters. Was never one for Joes or their toys myself, closest was when MicroMachines themed some of their military waves as Joes and Cobras but I've enjoyed a lot of what Mega's put out, even from franchises like Destiny and AssCreed I was never personally invested in. It's called the late tax, why would Ali by any different than Amazon or elsewhere in that regard. Pic related was way overstocked by Walmart and when it wasn't moving for the original 99 maplebucks they had to keep slashing it until finally hitting this low. Ironically you'll be hard-pressed to find one at all just a few years later, definitely not for less than 100. That whole Banished wave was pretty underwhelming really, did get two of the Skiffs though cuz it was Brute-ish enough to fit in with the classic Prowlers and Choppers.

That being said, the factory surplus loose figures, parts and accessories have been creeping up, probably with supply drying up. Managed to get a few loose Lugers but the various lots shown in the listings are increasingly marked as sold out.

Mega distribution in Asia for most game licenses that's not pokemon was cut off about a decade ago. Most legit sets you see with Chinese sellers are imported from North America. So by the time you buy from them it might've already crossed the Pacific 2~3 times, something silly like that.

Two of each possible fig, fairly good mix of loadouts though about half ended up with the now-classic frankengun assault sniper LMG. Even then, there's three different variants of that loadout and this had a mix of all three. The sniper fig is a bit off, having a tan ghillie suit instead of the advertised green and an incomplete one at that; thought it was an error at first but both figs were only provided with one leg piece each, might end up swapping around with another figure of a more appropriate color. The "juggernaut" dude's head is an awkward fit, likely due to that head being taken from Halo's NMPD rather than one of the CoD heads, easily fixed with a swap of course.

Of all the blindbag series so far I'd call this one the best and my personal favorite, even with one of the figs coming with a club foot and the aforementioned sniper fail. Opened up the other case I received earlier this week as well and it was a significant let-down compared to this one - most of the figs were given the weapon sprue that only has a pistol and a combat knife alongside the rest of the gear, significantly different from what's shown on the box art. Looking back on when I was buying these from a different store as lots of randomly selected blindbags I should've expected it, had received a few from that series. The figs themselves are a good color scheme at least and include several with officer caps, can easily arm them up from my stockpile. Still a couple series left I haven't tried yet, may get to them eventually.
