A good batman is one who uses the trauma to fight crime ( even after chill is killed) because its not just one man who killed his parents but a citys fall into crime that did them in, he grows and continues the fight and slowly gets over the trauma, he inspires heroes to be born and as he hits mid life he is rest assured that Gotham has others to take his place, either as a successor to Bats or their own entity. He is then able to find love, and start a family in a Gotham that is improved and saved.
Because comics are never ending, batman can never end, and since batman cant end he should never have a son or any children. Its ridiculous to think batman can go one being a crime fighter as a dad.
Superman on the other hand can do both because he is super, and can literally be anywhere in seconds. But honestly, Superman having a kid is also stupid because i think Clark would want to focus on his family first and not do all this moonlighting.
Superman would probably retire knowing other supers are there to fill the void and only come out of retirement when it is absolutely necessary, or when his children are adults, and maybe theyd join him in the fight too.
