I once wore a casual cosplay (basically just a hat) just to show my love for a series and regretted once i got into public with it.
Couldn't walk a dozen feet before being asked to get my photo taken, so i was late to all the shit i wanted to go to. Had to buy a new shirt at the convention mid-day, just to make sure no one would continue asking. I felt like a clown who was expected to perform for random people, instead of ever meeting a "real" fan who liked the same shit as me.
When i take photos for /toy/, i just want to be helpful and also want others to do the same shit as i do. It adds to discussion and we get to see toys we probably wouldn't normally see, because no general exists for some rare/unknown toy.
Even seeing an old toy is welcomed, so i try and add variety with every photo i take.
It's about reciprocation, instead of attention seeking or validation.
