IKEA's original CEO was dyslexic. It was a lot harder for him to remember all of the items by codes and all that, so instead they were given names. it's why you have desks being named after scandinavian boys names, or why kitchen tools are named after mushrooms and fish.
..also, it brought the greatness that is Djungelskog, so I can't complain.
