Yeah. I've seen plenty of kids visit my local toy store, and I know one bought an ER Doubledealer there. Just posing it. I even went and opened the legs just to check the tabs and they were fine. I then applied some shock oil and worked on the springs to weakend them (I didn't want to cut anything in the event of a break so I could return it), and after fiddling with it for a week, one of the legs just gave way. I didn't feel any resistance or lock up before hand, it just broke.

Fangry is impossible to find these days unless you find the full Target four pack he was released in and that costs around $200.

Also, Ratbat is still selling for an arm and a leg as are the Earth and Cybertron molds for Skywarp.

Why does it go for $200 bucks? I still have mine mostly untouched because of reports of chipping paint on Nemesis Primal's legs because of dogshit clearances. I mainly bought it for Fangry and alternate Blackarachnia legs. I am a deal hunter. If you are patient you can find almost all Transformers dirt cheap. But you have to stalk the apps AND have the money ready when they go up for this to work. I got studio Series Grimlock for $70, recently. Hes going for $250 so..
I had the hardest time with the Insecticons Bombshell and Shrapnel, and Stunticon Breakdown, and I still havent got a Beachcomber. Others I still need that are cost prohibiting are Titan Scorponok and Leader SixShot

Yeah honestly the engineering design on this guy is so fucking phoned in it hurts. Sucks because he is so cool looking in person. Anyways, I'm trying to work on making some 3D printed parts to start distributing both the file and prints eventually, but I've just been busy with other shit. I also have to try and exchange my copy with Amazon and dodge getting a broken figure. My knees are fine for now, but the logo on the aircraft carrier for mine is not symmetrical which is also completely fucking unacceptable in a 200 dollar figure as well. I am being fucked by some sort of QC demon constantly with this franchise and even my wife is saying I shouldn't buy them anymore due to several past fuckups by them.

My battle damage HftD leader Optimus Prime came, still doing a lot of photos, comparissons etc. Hinges were tight as fuck, I was scared that I might breake something.
Transformation was an experience, fun, complex and I just learn that outside US version had just "OPTIMUS PRIME" voice line, not even full one xd

I can see how parents might have a problem with this one, does MPM feels similar?

Nah. Hot Rod is basically flawless unless you're incredibly autistic about the shades of color you think he should be. Grimlock is also really good. Wreck-Gar is basically perfect. The fact Magnus has any notable flaws at all puts him below those guys..

I am constantly amazed by the Rescue Bot team’s creativity and resourcefulness with their repaints and retools as well as their very high level of reverence for the source material and overall Transformers Universe. Rather than retconning shit and doing whatever the hell they wanted they actually built upon the G1 Universe. So awesome. Bravo to all those involved

The ironic thing is that the Seekers were oversized, so they wouldn't need a new mold to fix the scale, but they're still desperately in need of a new mold to fix how dogshit the ER one is. At least the Siege Seeker mold will still be useful with SS86 Prime. Megatron/Shockwave/Soundwave need a height bump. Astrotrain needs a height bump, though his Siege mold was pretty shit so I wouldn't be upset about replacing it. I think Blitzwing might be okay.

They did something way back too, I think it was literally called Last Chance version MP-01 before unveiling MP-10

The mold is basically an up-sized version of Classics Starscream, a figure released in 2006. It lacks a waist swivel and wrist articulation, despite the Siege mold having both those things. It has very blatant gaps on the sides of the torso. It's an obvious rush job.

Seems like there’s enough space on the crotch area for a swivel (the same spot that cyclonus has one lol) I also thought that it would be difficult to add a waist swivel to jetfire and cybertron starscream, but the managed to figure that out. Heck, even armada starscream has one. Though, I do wonder if they made the seeker mold lame on purpose in order to make all the dozens of repaints they knew hey were going to make cheaper

The Siege seekers helped contribute to me getting back into buying Transformers for the first time since I was a kid. I'd keep seeing them in stores and think how good they looked. When I eventually did crack and started buying TFs again, the Earthrise toys were starting to be revealed. I originally planned to only get the Siege Rainmakers and wait for the ER Seeker for the main trio. Then I saw the ER Seeker. I noped the fuck out and managed to get Starscream and Thundercracker for only $14 each at Target. I was then lucky enough to get Skywarp for cost on Amazon during a brief restock. I've since bought every redeco of the mold and I have zero regrets. If Hasbro ever does make a better F15 Seeker I'm keeping my Siege army and only buying the main trio and maybe some new redecos like Sunstorm.

I guess its official that 86 Rodimus will be a redeco or partial retool- then again I don't think thats particularly news to any of us. I think though it means we WILL get one, which I'm glad for as I didn't get the Siege one. Like any person who knows anything about tolerances and engineering would have told them that this will fucking break. Even if the tabs were perpendicular to where they are now it wouldn't break. This is completely unacceptable on a figure that they already cut SO MANY corners on.

That being said, I'm drafting up a 3D print that will fit inside the quarters of space there that slot into the slots that aren't used under that gear disc. I'll keep the thread posted. This is so fucking stupid.

Honestly not sure. I also don't know the degree that people are using the knees. I am probably the exception, but I tend to bend them slow. I opened mine a couple times to see if there was stress and there was none. And I moved it roughly 100 times. Either way I think I should go through with the 3D printed parts thing because this seems like a widespread issue and it sucks people just flushed 200 bucks down the toilet.

I wish this was like the old days where if a collectors item or even a toy has an issue, they have a proof of purchase type thing where someone sends you a fix.

It varies, I've seen comments saying the knees felt fine, then they gave way. Others mention they were very stiff moving them either forward or back. Some have been broken in package (probably when they move them for shipping). Another issue I've seen only happens with mods, if you weaken or cut the spring too far, the ratchet can slip. If you don't notice it slipped off, you'll break it on the following rotation.

TF1 Deluxe Prime pleased me right out of the box when I saw he had butterfly joint in the shoulders.

Even though this is supposed to be the Optimus Prime form I can't help but see as a youth.
It's in the head proportions and stumpy arms.

Didn't actually notice he comes with a teeny tiny matrix before opening him. He can't hold it hold it, but he has grooves in his knuckles to pretend and the necessary articulation to do the pose.

Idk, but toxitron grimlock is anything but ugly. Sideswipe is really nice too, but seriously, g2 grimlock just pops and photos dont do it justice. I got really lucky and found one for $50, now if i knew id have to give up on snarl i might not have bpught it but its done now.

well it's kinda both. the new face couldn't be that much wider than the original, or that much longer at the attachment point. and so since the original was a long face, the shorter face looks like it ought to be scaled up, but that would eat up too much real estate for the flip out mane.
notice that in the anime, the mane is fucking huge.. it's not that his head is small, the mane is gigantic. then it cheats in robot mode and folds away all sleek.

I repainted one as a normal lion and I think it looks great, but i liked him in the first place.
and the picture makes the paint job look really sloppy for some reason. i think i had grease on my camera lens. I've done shitty sloppy paint jobs before, but this one was actually good. i utilized wet-on-wet techniques for eye shines.

that said, I have ditched that thick paint for vallejo now (the tan on the lion is that, and it applies so smoothly) even though it costs a lot more, you need a lot less.

The only issue I see is the front of the fender isn't painted.
What you might be seeing is the sort of fuzziness of the bitch seat. I think that's 3d printed and that's the reason.

1. The colors are super screen accurate on the Buzzworthy. In hand the studio series looks off and almost dirty or washed out

Its crazy to me how even if you somehow manage to tab him all together perfectly (nearly impossible), you are still left with this giant gap in the back. This is a clear sign to me that this design is literally unfinished and didnt get a final pass it was meant to have. And then they released the mold like this a second time. Really shows a lack of care and tells me they are prioritizing deadlines and budgets over everything else

Also, the unpainted window is ugly. The color is all wrong, and the unnecessary greebles behind the translucent plastic makes the chest look way too busy, ruining the aesthetic. Painting the window improved the figure immensely!

Ah, I'm really sorry anon, I didn't remember his bio was one of the less charitable ones. Your reaction made me misremember that there was a more charitable/generous bio but I can't find it, think it's just Dreamwave and toy bios. His intelligence is pretty rightly high for his role though.
There's been a handful of bios like that for me as well, e.g. I legitimately detest Hubcap with all my might, and I would probably come up with a new bio for him if I got him.

If it's any consolation, I think Fizzle's design is really cool, always liked the knightly helmets, you can come up with a new personality for him, or an updated one where he sort of shaped up after a particularly bad failure, or a moment of clarity. I have an Armada Prime whose arm flaps I wanna sand down, how do I do it?
I cam get the legs deconstructed fine and I removed the flaps themselves, but now what, how do I sand down a cylinder with sandpaper so that all sides are even?
How do I know I've sanded enough or not too much, so that the flap isn't too loose - Hell, what kinda grit didja guys use?

Brother we already won, we got updates to every season 1 character and a few from season 2, everyone whos left still has a perfectly good toy from tm/tm2 and fuzor except for if you care about the scale of tm2 dinobot, tm2 cheetor and tm megatron

But Depthcharge, Rampage, Quickstrike, tm cheetor, tm2 blackarachnia, tm rattrap, tm optimus and tm tarantulas are all still fantastic toys

Id happily take more of course, but i view anything else at this stage as cherry on top bonus, especially if that lost Polar Claw resurfaces

Ideally a modern Spychanger remake would be one base bot design easily adapted to different altmodes since they transform the same, essentially all you have to do is make one transformer then remold the others from it. it's more about the tail, but the wings are a nice benefit
i resent having to buy the tigerhawk kit too, but... maybe someone else got ONLY him, and will buy the kit from me. or maybe he'll get a partial retool that solves some of his problems and the kit will work on that.

see i've always been anal about mixnmatch critters and how they should properly look, i critique the fuck out of like, every fantasy movie and what they wanna do with griffins and hippogryphs and what have you.
silverbolt took a while for me to get used to, but it wasn't ever the wing size, that's just something you accept sometimes. it was the weird size and shape and texture of his bird arms, along with the goofy wolf head. But at least his tail was in the right spot.
A tail that starts midway down the back, and stops before the animal's butt? I can't possibly accept that.
