I dont like any of the movie merch but I might have to get the Shadow figure, because holy shit he looks actually good? Better than the regular shadow figures even, but that's just me. Because they did not drastically change his design, it just looks like they added more details to him.

While i saw him on amazon for 20eur and was dumb enough not to buy and he disappeared quickly.

The Sonic Movies feel like they're really not living up to their toy potential.

I realize I'm probably the only person on Earth who would buy figures of Tom and that British evil agent chick from the Knuckles show, but at least give us some of the huge mechs and vehicles from the movies.

Jakks know playsets don't sell that well, so they have to be very selective of what gets made. ROS and Ollie is constant;y stocked with the playsets. The Eggman globe thing is piled up at ollies right now. Eggmans hover set is at most ROSS too. I even got the classic Robo Robotnik set at ROSS. Better to stick to the main characters that actually sell. Human characters also peg warm other than Eggman. I just wish they've scale Movie Eggman properly instead of the same height as Sonic and the gang, it looks stupid.

My Target put up their promotional cardboard tower for Sonic 3 recently. Managed to get Sonic and Tails. Of course Shadow was sold out. Not surprising especially after the trailer drop. Went back today and the tower was entirely cleared out of the 5 inch toys. They had nothing in the back. It kind of sucks that Sonic 3 gets this tiny little one sided display while Target got fucking choked with Mario movie shit. I'm not sure if Jakks knows just how hype these Sonic 3 figures are compared to the Mario movie ones.

It's almost a crime that these are the best articulated Sonic figures we have ever gotten between 4 and 6 inches. At such a relatively decent price too. I like the movie-verse though, so I am not too bothered. As for the f toys themselves, the only QC I got is Sonic having a loose bicep swivel and Tails having a little glue on his eyes. Easy fixes. Articulation isn't crazy, but serviceable and solid minus the bicep hiccup. Sonic can balance on one leg with the rest of his body almost entirely horizontal without falling over. The only thing that's really left me wanting is moveable spines so Sonic can look up easier.

Hopefully Jakks ups the distribution and Target gets proper locations for them in the aisles sooner than later. Also that a second wave comes with Super Sonic, Super Shadow, and a Knuckles outside that 4-pack. And I can only pray that one day that the video games could get Sonic toys as solid as these.

Good. At least for me, the a figure being in the checklane assortment is the best thing that can happen in this line. Multiple stores actually stock the checklane figures, and many of them have multiple cases on hand. And then in the cases, there's a basically-even distribution of all the figures. Plus, even when people do scalp them, most of the time they're too retarded to walk fifteen feet to the other case and scalp those too. Fang coming out in the checklane now, practically at the same time as its release in the "normal" line, is awesome. I was able to get him my first time looking. They just need to rerelease Charmy in the checklane, for the good of mankind.

While The Sonic fan base may indeed be the most pathetic group of diaper-filling manchildren that I’ve ever seen, Jakks has really done well with their Sonic line, this Shadow in particular looks really good for a movie tie in figure based on a cgi render, especially since he probably only costs $10. Absolutely everything before Jakks' jointed toys are all garbage. Even back when Jazwares' were new and innovative after Toy Island, I was already suffering for Figmas or SHF's to replace them. There was absolutely no cope or justification for toys that were jointed yet fell over so easily, because Toy Biz already innovated for the same price, and of course Transformers ROTF and Animated were already a thing. And also they were poor quality, unready for hamhands. Jazwares was just a BAD company. Bad Mega Man, bad Hanna-Barbera, bad Nicktoons. But I always kept picrel because it was a good rideable toy, and that needs nothing complex and hasn't broken yet

Thanks for the detailed response. I'm new to Sonic figures so I was watching an hour long Jazwares retrospective on YT and they didn't seem very good, and yeah they were always falling over like their legs were wet noodles. Their packaging really grabs me in a way Jakks doesn't though and makes me nostalgic for TRU (even though I had 0 interest in Sonic back then).

Scale allows for math, anon. Sonic is about 39" tall in 1:1, so in 1:10, that would be 3.9", or roughly 3 7/8". The 5" figures are closer to 1:8, you're better off with the older figures.

Cream buyer from earlier in the thread here. I am new to toy hunting IRL (I don't like to leave the house) but I found these at Ross today. 2.5" Rouge was the only Jakks in the toy aisle so I grabbed her. There was some other virgin there with his phone out, I think he was scanning barcodes or something so I was worried I'd have competition while scrounging around like Gollum for more Jakks figures, but it seems like he wasn't looking for Sonic stuff anyway so I didn't have to do anything to him.

Then I found this 4" Classic Amy sitting on top of some candy in the checkout lane. I didn't want any 4" classic characters but I figured I'd regret not getting her while I had the chance so I bought her anyway. Then I went to Target and they just had a bunch of Sonics, so I watched the quiet underage girl employee stock merch for a while and then left. You guys get any good stuff lately?
