>>11125355Mezco's One:12 line was huge when it came out, so Mezco's released a ton of figures over 2 years, and retailers gladly over-ordered. Turns out a lot of those figures Mezco made weren't actually popular, like Star Trek TOS barely being known with today's populace.
So a lot of those figures of that time could be bought for $30-40, instead of $65-80 that they were originally sold for. Even Kirk, which was popular, could be bought for ~$50, while everyone else shelf warmed enough to be clearance priced.
/toy/ enjoyed those sales very much and expected future figures to be just as cheap, but retailers started under-ordering figures and a lot of the fans who bought cheap started bitching about the prices now being too high (MSRP) by 2019 and figures nearly impossible to buy cause they sold so fast.
