Finished my stretched interstellar spaceship today! I took parts from the smaller rover set from city space and a few from old jet creator sets and the 3-in-1 little shuttle to round out the white smooth pieces up top. It always bugged me there was mining, research, aliens, multiple minifigs, whole rovers and structures on this other world but no way to get them there from earth.

I grew to love rock season
Got an absolute steal deal on colossus of ultimate destruction (got a dusty old one for 20 bucks, cleaned it and built and it looks so awesome) and it unlocked the stone season for me.
From now on i will be slowly building stone monsters collection.

I never liked the Monster Fighters castle - it was basically made of "big ugly rock pieces"

- walls
- curved tower walls
- roofs

Such things were always making castles ugly as fuck and cheap looking. Sort of the same thing was happening to harry potter castles back then.

Hidden Side castle is much better. it has some ugly-piece type of castle parts but overall the build is better

Hidden Side is such a strange theme - it appeared and disappeared without anybody noticid.
all i remember is that huge school and school bus.

I love ALL sets from hidden side but the funniest part - i DONT OWN ANY OF THEM
what the fuck...

this one is just fantastic.
HS has so many "lego city but better" environment-type of sets.

HS castle is a bit better though

monster fighters castle has a prison with a lever to bust the wall open, it has a chain on a spinning wheel to pull prisoners up and down, it has a trap door into spikes, it has a wall that unfolds into a door+staircase, a spider you press on to shoot it, the moonstones mechanism that opens and closes and makes the moon spin, the spike trap at the gate, mechanism in the car that shoots a net...

hidden side has a trap door into the monster and shit with the hidden colors for the smartphone slop

I've got both. Mystery Castle is a lesser play structure but has some nice details, while Vampyre Castle is a great playset with some wicked aesthetic.
Still like both, I think Hidden Side had the better figures, though I'm biased because Nehmaar is fucking sick.

This is the first expanded interstellar starship that actually looks good to me. Nice job with the shaping. It also bugs the shit out of me when there isn't weapon/bot storage.

The MOC general is dead, so I guess we're back to using the regular general again...

Anyway, I just finished an Ice Planet MOC. It can alternate between snow speeder and jet with flip out wings.

I actually liked Hidden Side sets even if the actual theme didn't interest me much. They were nice and easy to convert into city sets. It deserved to die as quickly as it did though. It had such a terrible marketing campaign and it was dumb to tie it in to AR app. It was so dumb that a lot of the monsters didn't even exist in the sets. They were just in the app.

There are way too many protruding pieces and tiled over sections to properly hold or place figures on the build, it's too complication with 1200 mostly small pieces so if it breaks during play it either takes hours to reassemble or ends up in the parts bin, the pieces included aren't easily used to make other and there is nothing to be added or modified to it.

Not to mention the concept. Kids like mythical creatures, but what is this? A giant crow? That's also a house, has a cauldron on it's back, a shack, is purple and has gigantic blade shaped pink feathers? Doing weird creative mashups is cool, but kids can do that on their own. In terms of a concept that's meant to be a mass produced, consumer product, it's sort of bizarre.

I mean $100 is a big gift for a gift. That's like the main event of a birthday or christmas. Pic related was about the same cost inflation adjusted. Imagine how happy a little girl would be to get a castle with a princess and pegasus. How open ended and changeable it is compared to a fucking crow.

I don't think the color scheme is terrible. Personally I'd have replaced the yellow with white or beige to better match the color of typical medieval timber-framed plaster wall building (there's an actual term for that style of construction but I don't remember it), but the existing colors aren't the worst.

Usually the big spaceship set is the coolest part of a space theme, but this theme is lacking one (there's a space station but it's not the same, and also probably the worst set in the theme for its value). Granted, not all classic space themes had one either, and this one does have a big ground vehicle instead, but I still feel that it's something that should be included if possible.

Yikes. Having dark ages through Nexo Knights is terrible.
However i started to have dark ages right at the end of the stone season (im OP who bought stone colossus for discount) so i missed literally all expensive minifigures like Lord Krackenskull.
I was kinda fooled by sets like pic related that had giant CAR on the cover.
Krackenskull and his monster weren't even visible that much.
I never understood why out of the sudden after basass cool as fuck first season of unique Knight-inspired vehicles they did a fucking.... C-A-R with puke colors.
I think whoever designed this car should be fired.

After ignoring the last Nexo sets I entered my dark ages and didnt see anything from Hidden Side and then I found Brickheadzzz and thought that lego is garbage or something.

Returned when they announced Dreamzzz and found how many awesome sets they have these days (ideas/Ninjago/castle/Harrypotter/etc.).

Lego is fucking awesome. Wish i wasn't folled by this fucking lime green CAR

This thing is in my TOP 5 most hated lego sets. i'm not even kidding

Picrelated was the line that damaged nexo knights.
The line after that was awesome (Stone colossus if Ultimate Destruction is cool and unique, Nexo Knights castle and other nice stuff + start of awesome techno vampires line that even appealing to classic space because of their colors (black + neon green) but this one was garbage that ruined everything and people stopped buying nexo knights.

They could turn this line into something amazing, the best thing ever if not this shitty season.
I'm seriously curious about the name of the designer who made these. What other stuff did they make?

every single type of person, with every possible thing you can see or not see, gets a box, and Lego is trying to check all the boxes. I'm not going to compile a list of the boxes, but it would be interesting to get a look at it. somewhere there must be a list of the boxes that need checking. there was a meeting and a white board I'm sure

it's not important for any of the checked boxes to "make sense" the box simply needs to be checked. they fail to realize that when the checked-box doesn't make sense, it winds up insulting everybody instead of helping.

I am grateful to this series for a bunch of neon details.
In fact, Nexo Knights is already considered a "vintage retro series" because we will no longer see neon details (which glow under ultraviolet light).
After Nexo Knights, lego stopped producing them.
This why ice planet minifigure from cmf didnt have one while nexo knights had neon weapons

I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but I think this was all someone's planned fault, an attack on the entire series.
They started so well and got a lot of fans. And then SUDDENLY they create shitty sets and change the ideology of the entire series.
Plus, instead of introducing new villains, they have the jester Jestro and the book again.

How could those who created such high-quality first 2 seasons of lava monsters screw up like that...
After the end of the lava arc, they could have, for example, made a filler arc with random fantasy monsters (like the short arc with scorpions and spiders in Legends of Chima), and then reintroduce Jestro and the Book. Then everyone would have missed them by now and would be happy to see them again. And the gargoyles wouldn't seem like "demons, only gray"

I don't know why there's a Nexo Knights has a simp, Sexo Knights was always mid.
It's just a lesser version of Ninjago, take a classic theme, castle for Nexo Knights and Ninjago with ninja and then set in a vaguely futuristic "present day" but with futuristic tech, giant mechs and fully sentient robots, but keep magic and monsters for the purists. Add a gimmick, then pack it a mediocre cartoon voiced cartoon and you have most of Lego themes from the 2010s.
Ninjas with futuristic tech, mechs and magic, furries with futuristic tech, mechs and magic, knights with futuristic tech, mechs and magic, JTTW with futuristic tech, mechs and magic (but not Dragon Ball).

I absolutely dislike ninjago and never cared about those even if i joined somewhere around Galaxy Squad.
But i got instantly hooked in Nexo Knights.

Don't mind me talking shit about rock season. I love rock monsters and minifigures. Just being overly critic about one of my favorite themes.

Ninjago always looked annoying to me. But it does have cool mechs and dragons tho.
I dont think i have any lego theme. Im not that juvenile. It's all bricks which means literally every theme is USEFUL

The launch ramp is gay, granted, but the ship itself is a critical link in the sets' infrastructure. How else are you supposed to get modules in and out of orbit?
Also, the central ring of the station does have one positive aspect: you can remove the two small wheels from the center and stick it on an airlock connection. I like to use it as a big booster engine for the cargo ship or the truck/train module ship from the station itself.

Having played a lot of KSP I was planning on just imagining them landing in parts on a separate module, to be assembled in situ. Otherwise, I was planning to re assemble the module tractor piece from the station into a vtol booster for the modules to and from the surface. Like I said I really can’t stand the stubby launcher part from the crane center set. It’s too bad because I really really love that center building.

Sorry, I really love Ninjago. It was the first Lego theme I really got into after Star Wars and City as a kid.
And despite its ups and downs, I love the crap out of it.
Really wish it didn't end on Crystallised, despite the original hype, it's not hitting for me. Arin and Sora feel like what executives think kids want to see themselves as and are stereotypical zoomers, also they might have made Cole gay, apparently the new season leaked but I've been avoiding spoilers, but if it's true it really sucks because Cole was one of my favorite ninja and it's disrespectful to the death of Kirby Morrow. It's also like the Sequel trilogy of Ninjago, by taking a fat shit over the original continuity of Ninjago and upending all the happy endings.

the series is discontinued and only like...few anons actually interested in it.

And it's natural. People who saw it grew up and have nostalgia because years have passed. Etc.
A lot of sets are ignored/hated when they are new and then people "feel nostalgic" and "want them back".

Same thing happened to Chima and probably will happen to Dreamzzz.
I'm here since 2011 and i remember how Lego Chima had the same type of annoying haters

I totally remember how we had a schizo that was calling the crow tribe from Chima jews and hating Chima for basically making a jews-based cartoon.
It was IMPOSSIBLE to talk about Chima or post crows - that retard was instantly appearing and shitting about jews.

Fucking christ this made me remember that stuff.
So...yeah. our current Dreamzzz/wheelchair hater is not even 50% as hateful/aggressive as that chima-hater guy from 2010s lmao!

It's the second most expensive set in the theme but while on paper it's a big model in practice most of that size comes from the central ring, which is just a frame to attach the pods to. So for that price you just get a bunch of tiny pods and a big plastic frame to hang them off.
If you can get it for 40, definitely do so. I just don't think it's worth the retail price.

I fucking wish but that would mean it would have to be a really long lasting theme like SW and Harry Potter. Hope Nintendo allows them to do so. If they do my bet is that it’ll have over 100 sets + some CMF lines, but if that’s the case they really have to start doing that ASAP. Maybe they were just testing the waters this year to see if people will bite and they will make CMF lines
