dont have a pic on hand but the entire thing is unpainted except for some minor bits on the chest and head. The arms and legs are totally unpainted dark blue. The chest and head were switched to that metallic seafoam green thats been making the rounds. It looks okay, but a bit cheap, and not at all like the concept art.

So what should the actual layout be for the OG version teased? For the deep exclusive parts, A semi translucent blue (actually the blue glow would probably work great here) with dark blue glitter fleks inside like weve seen with various geodraxus and other figures, but with a fair amount of paint on the chest and heads. Then the body can be the same material blue that we actually got, or close to it, but then actually have painted boots and gauntlets, including a metallic teal paint for the gauntlets.

I blame this mainly on the color combos. Gauss is a great figure inside and out, but almost all of them look pretty bad. I think my favorites are the one matt made, because of course matt understands color, the multicolor test shot looking one, and the light purple one is okay. Pretty much all of the others have looked terrible.

One of the craziest things about toypizza is that they have more molds than anyone but almost none of the figures ever get ran in the same colorways. Yeah, a lot of the colorways leave something to be desired, but there have been a lot of fantastic ones over the years... And then almost nothing else ever matches that figure, ever again. And no I am not counting some shitty blank or almost blank as a colorway, I mean the big swings with actual decoration. I guess it would also help if the figures were all actually compatible with one another, which for some reason there's a lot of pegs that don't fit one another well or joints that line up, which just seems like bad design.
I guess really I'm just wondering if they took the time and money to actually make everything good, even if things were more expensive, would that lead to better sales vs the mass dissatisfaction of endless compromises and barely painted figures?

Naval Deep (@toypizza)

Man if you were hoping for that nice blue design study of Matt's last year as the "army builder" or even just seeing this in a straight colorway like Metallic Seafoam with some paint highlights; the disappointment is real. The other $30 pirates got some nice fully painted designs and Naval Deep couldn't even get paint for the gauntlets and boots for $35. Because that would have saved this horrible color scheme easily enough: painted boots and gauntlets. I'd be embarrassed for having put something like this out as its debut.

Well that's all the time we have. Next week we'll be discussing how everything burns if you use enough gasoline.

What? More? No, I'll review this when Matt does a nice version. It's easy enough to see how more Metallic Seafoam makes it better just with a few parts from @warlordsofwor 's recent release. Seriously, go buy some figures and Axis Joints and a couple of Kaisyriax Limb Sets to improve the fun. Do note that the arm holes are curved inwards unlike most flat Glyos surfaces so I'd suggest using an Axis to keep a limb on better.

The naval deeps or whatever they're called look pretty cool but they didn't have any extra stock and $40 is a lot to ask. I'd wait for the next release to see if I pull the trigger, but inevitably there'll be 20 blank releases before we get another painted one

Also forgot to mention, great color choices right out the gate. And some inspired accessories, the way the brass knuckles work is so cool. The shield handle and cannon attachment points are also going to be vital for builds, I can feel it. I like when people release pieces that are clearly meant to faciliate building.

I'm having trouble getting this son of a bitch's neck peg in.
I've tried hot water, with no luck. All the other stuff works fine.

Also, the chest plate appears to be missing a connector as it has a hole on both sides(?) and my figure did not come with anything.

They look normal. I have a couple of the little 2 sided "adaptors" I got from Cappy and they go in the chest fine but not the chestplate.
Currently, don't have my camera but will try and get shots of the neck peg and hole.
They also look "normal.
Heads went on to the neck pegs with a little "convincing."
- maybe I just need to replace the neck pegs?
