I worked in what I'd call sort of a mini-mall around that time. There was a tower with government offices on one end, attached to a food court with various smaller retail businesses (banks, a book store, a restaurant, etc) scattered around. Second floor had some offices for non-retail stuff. The newsstand was right where the government offices let out.
That place started to clear out a decade before covid. Like with shopping malls, the (((owners))) just kept upping the rent until business models broke. Then the shutdowns did in alot of what was left. The government still maintains the tower, of course, but I think all that's left is a bank, some of the food court, and a CVS.
Oh, also, I dropped out of Star Wars too. I like the OT, the PT is watchable but doesn't drive me to buy stuff, and the ST is better left unsaid. The shows...I never said "gee, I wish Star Wars had a TV show." It's a good handful of movies and that's it.
