>>11149178Like I said, HBO/Max has actually had success. They routinely, besides Netflix, and along with Disney, are able to get something on the most watched lists that are taken seriously (since none of these companies release actual independent data) in the industry.
I mean, even Paramount, Peacock and whatever else exists, can get ONE thing near or in say a Top 20 list, one week or a few weeks, but the only constantly dominating is Netflix, and often with old crap like Suits.
WB is making new content. What I clarified was NEW content based on DC's IP (like Peacemaker or Penguin). And that Disney was doing the same retrenching - they are also approving new shit but not based on Pixar, Marvel or Star Wars (especially not SW).
So there is new content everywhere, just not core IPs they own being a major source of that new content.
>>11149229Four companies will likely survive. Max being one of them, Paramount will likely be dead with two to four years of Skydance completing the entire merger. Hulu will be considered the fourth even if it's essentially Disney+ that's NOT DISNEY.
At some point Universal will decide to partner with someone (like Amazon or Apple) and give up going it completely alone. I doubt it will be Skydance/Paramount and definitely won't be Warners or Disney, however.
