Got Rei on order. Just gotta wait for delivery. Also picked up some bootlegs of SAS BIG Jotaro and Star Platinum. Overall quality isn't actually that bad. Would recommend for how cheap they are. Can post pics later if anyone wants.

I recently got into SAS, mostly for JoJo but wouldn't be opposed for some HnK stuff (mostly for the punch effects). I really like the effort put into the paint jobs. Wipes the floor with Revoltech, Figma and SHF.

Yeah. The punch effects for kenshiro were done really well. I have most of the jojo line, only skipping the clears and swarovskis as they do nothing for me.
The painting has always been nice, along with all the tiny accessories and attention to detail. My other problem now is the older sculpts and articulation feeling dated. Especially for part 3. I really want a new Jotaro since he's my favourite joestar.

Well it's only taking 7 years, but Part 7 is slowly coming together. I'll probably have to eventually do some major shuffling to get the display down with Ringo and Wikipedia coming out, but it works.

The previous times I've used it, I managed with just Google Translate. The only thing you need is a Japanese address however. Any credit card will work, I never had any trouble with them.

Does this line still hold up or is it one of those things that is just mediocre-OK compared to modern figures from likes like Figuarts, Figma, etc. I feel like this used to be one of the more popular lines on /toy a couple years ago, but line seems to not pumping stuff out? Anthonycustoms hasn't done a review on one of these in years.

I've been looking at getting a Jotaro. maybe a couple others. going to do some more research, but just from the getgo my initial impression is this line is just OK, while also being stupid-expensive at the same time(at this point anyway). which in that case would be a good cue for me to just abort from the get go. would highly appreciate any more knowledge anons sharing their insight.

My only issue with the line, for better or worse, is they never embraced the "2.0" formula. Considering the line came out in 2009 (at the same time as SHF DB), buying the Part 3 Jotaro now is the equivalent of buying a 1.0 SSJ Goku.

The scale, sculpt, engineering, etc. has improved with later parts, particularly part 7, which only started 7 years ago, as opposed to 15, but by this point we're really due 2.0's and not just repaints.

At this point I can only recommened the Steel Ball Run figures, and maybe Stone Ocean,

think I'm just going to chill then. I assume it's only a matter of time before they or someone else starts doing "2.0s" which would be a much better time to jump in. Just seems way too popular of an IP for this to be the best ever especially with how much shit gets figures these days. whether thats a year or 5 years from now though, who the fuck knows. YMMV of course but I'm satisfied enough since I already own a legit Jotaro/Dio/The World to go with, so not as angsty over not owing Star Platinum.

I get what you mean about the scale. They're practically old Play Arts Kai before they majorly shifted to 10-12 inch. Not much to put them with so they're basically their own display pieces.

Eh, I think the issue is blown out of proportion. Granted, I don't have many part 3 figures, but the ones I have are gorgeous. The articulation is limited compared to other lines, even the newest releases, but they're still plenty expressive and fun to pose. YMMV of course.
