yeah, with you on that one 200%, even the little blocks or triangles would be awesome for building bases and little transports, it seems other makers run vinyl and seem to sell it okay

and yeah, not shipping internationally is a shame, it shouldn't be that hard with automated labels and shipping docs, but I honestly don't think SOME of the glyos makers are as fan focused as they should be

Did the old vinyl not sell that well?
Blank black blocks would surely not be super expensive to make and would move just for being useful for backgrounds, floors, etc. I assume Onell are just not interested in that side of things anymore, just pay lip service to it, instead we'll get brown pheyden #69 and yet another delphi limb based creature (but not actual delphi of course)

I think the problem is the margins. The actual cost of a PVC glyos figure(and really most toys) is probably very small, they can afford to sell them for $12 or $15 or $20 and people buy them because this is a normal price for toys, and all that extra money being made is enough to cover shipping from China to the US, mold costs(10k per mold ish), and give Matt etc enough to profit to be able to support his family, order new figures and molds.

The vinyl is simply more expensive. The margins, even back in 2012 when Matt was running them, were basically non-existent according to him in the blog. So yeah, Matt could run some low or no paint blocks. These two piece things that do nothing by themselves would be $20 each just to cover cost of production and shipping to the US, look at galaxor selling blanks for $40, painted for $50-70. And then remember that to have fun with a block you need to buy like 8 of them just to have enough to stand 3-4 figures on them. A single $20 block is a hard sell when it's going to sit there and do nothing. Do I still want them to come back? Yes.

Shame really... I assume Onell have a higher volume than Galaxxor so price is a little better for them... I'd be excited for a smaller wave of figures mixed with some basic vinyl Vs waves like 102 where's there's a shit ton of figures and build out parts but it feels a bit repetitive, and it would be the same cost for onell to run but with some vinyl. I guess I'll stop complaining and make something for myself.

This. For as much as I pine for vinyl back now, I know I was dumb as shit and didn't buy it when it was around, because it was too expensive, you needed a lot to do anything decent, and I preferred to just own more figures instead.

A little. But probably not enough to make it worthwhile, either to me or to Matt. All those big impressive vinyl builds are like hundreds of dollars worth, and like others ITT have mentioned, some people feel squeamish about cutting their parts. Feels too final, you can't go back.

I've thought about this and if they did ever run them again the blocks should come precut with 4 of the vinyl switch pins. You could also do some sort of combo build like a block with two wedges as a ship and sell them that way, so block+4 pins+2 wedges which would allow people to get whatever they wanted and not have to cut anything.
