Waaaay more Japanese artists this year than before, so i got a ton of great new stuff i normally couldn't in person.
I spent more money this year than all other years thanks to that. Also, i have less to show for it than before too, thanks to artists charging more for sketches.
I think all conventions before COVID were better, despite funko trash taking over everything by 2017. A lot of store/booths are still trying to figure out what to carry, so tradtional stuff (/toy/ favorites) aren't as prominent as they used to be pre-2015.
Never been to NYCC, but i routinely go to other largish conventions. Panels are rarely as good as SDCC, but there's way more indie artists to visit than found at SDCC.
