The Decepticon movement was based off of Megatronus' teachings and ideals - his whole mindset was Might Makes Right. Megatron naming himself after him is the equivalent of a devil worshipper claiming Lucifer did nothing wrong, then declaring himself to be the devil to invoke his ideology in his fellow cultists.

According to tfwiki, "Megatronus" was introduced by the Aligned continuity, which referenced pretty much every previous continuity. Although not directly referenced, the Covenant of Primus "Megatron" was used as the basis for this new name.

Early on in the aligned verse they wanted to make Megatronus more of a tragic figure. Liege Maximo was supposed to be Robot Lucifer. Then they sort of changed their minds and swapped the two, where the Fallen was the big bad prime and Liege was a petty trickster.

Got a Star Raider Thundertron (by itself). First time really handling the mold, outside of buying a few copies of the voyager to then sell without accesories (this was stated in the listings and pictures).

It looks pretty good in person, the colors are vibrant, reminds me of Takara's LG line. Thundertron is a neat looking figure, but clunky:

-Articulation is limited in some spots (like the hands can't turn a certain way well, head barely moves without colliding with everything or the hip swivels being a pain in the ass in beast mode thanks to the side skirts).
-You don't get much waist swivel unless you unpeg the back.
-The peg leg in general. I don't hate it, but it wouldn't have been impossible to add an hinge for the ankle.

Aside from that, my personal favorite thing is the fore leg on the shoulder, you can do polarclaws claw gimmick with both shoulders while in robot mode and it rocks. You can also put the sword in the beast mode mouth since the hinge there is strong enough to hold it, along with big enough teeth to secure it in place.

If you can ignore the above issues, it's a pretty fun toy.

Unicron trilogy was before that went into effect, so yeah, those are still Convoy. If the toy has any fiction related to G1, they tend to use Convoy. It's why Legacy releases kept the western name, if it's not in G1 fiction or UT, then they get western names.

Still pretty solid, I'd say. The biggest annoyances are that he's not really all that spherical and his kibble wings in robot mode are always kinda in the way. They can come off pretty easily though. But the articulation is still pretty comparable to modern figures. I'd say the biggest thing to look out for is that chest missile gimmick, that thing has some powerful springs in its mechanism that have absolutely won out over the plastic keeping it in place over time, so it isn't uncommon to see old figures where the chest doesn't lock in anymore.

Not him, but my opinions are mixed. I needed to get another copy because the first had issues:

-Left leg had the connecting tab for the vehicle mode bent, so it couldn't transform.
-Left arm swivel just pops off
-Bad face paint

After getting another and cobbling a good one out of them, I can say that transforming it is fun and it posses well. Ignoring the wrong vehicle mode, the only complaint about the toy is the skinny thighs. Had they done the leg transformation differently, they could have bulked up those thighs enough to match the previous bee.

If it helps, it goes on sale often and I've seen it as low as 16 on ebay.

It's very weird. The proportions on the last one were pretty decent in combined mode, the main issue was the arms being comically small. The new one is only slightly better in the arm department, but now the torso is too wide. I'll try doing an awful shop to see if show what I mean.

I got the add on kit for CW Devy which fixed most of the problems except for Long Haul's arms. I have no clue why Hasbro couldnt make those more poseable. They don't do anything in any other mode that they needed to be compromised.

I've seen printed replicas from the minicon, missiles and wing connectors, not sure if there are options for the big parts, still might look fine on the background with Galvatron and company in front.

Despite being a floppy mess, Masterdominus did grow on me. He looks pretty cool and the tusks really help complete his appearance.
I dislike whatevers going on with the hands so I wish the tusks could have been split to have one for each and help obscure them a bit more.

I've said it before and will likely continue to say it until the end of /tfg/, but how do you people not all have a bottle of floor polish or acrylic clearcoat at the ready to fix loose joints? It's been a problem on almost every line I've bought figures from since Thrilling 30. During Prime Wars, almost everything I bought had tons of loose joints right out of the box. Post-siege has been somewhat better, but the modular "izer" bots have picked up the slack, as every one I've picked up has had some loose pegs or ports to the point that they wouldn't even stay together in certain combinations.

If I didn't know how to fix loose joints, I literally would have stopped collecting Transformers over a decade ago.

Yeah, Leadfoot was one the few bots I've been legitimately satisfied with in recent years. Overall the mold is kinda meh, as the legs are a mess and fake parts are almost always a dealbreaker for me, but this deco absolutely makes the most of it.

It's also one of the only times I'd recommend the toyhax sticker set, since the alt mode looks kind of naked without some form of race livery beyond just a number, and the reflective red sticker for the visor is worth it alone.

Picked up the toy deco Scorp for cheap, since I wanted at least SOME form of G1/BW Scorp, turns out everything's forgivable if you went in choosing to like the character and toy. The missiles are fun to pretend they're going pewpew, and the bee is definitely a cute little friend to have. Pity the toy deco is so minimal with details, but I markered up some things to make it vaguely passable. Just wish his tail moved around a bit more in either mode, although I actually don't mind how half-assed the bottom of the altmode is. Arachnids do rule, man

I actually really like it after thinking about it for a day. A JXSDF military vehicle turning into a robot is pretty great, even if it's a little basic. My biggest beef is they don't give us an extra blue gun so each arm can have one like Kiryu did. Still, a proper Toho vehicle would have been cooler.

The Godzilla looks like ass, but this one is cool.

but yeah tail articulation was a letdown, and the hollowness is no good. the rest is fine. I actually weirdly like the little spike left by the robot heel in the tail. it sorta fits with the original guy being based more on the toy and having that ridiculous serrated upside-down stinger. which he never used in battle, only to spray acid once. there's an upgrade kit for that stinger if'n you prefer it.

My main issue with the changes is that transformers qc is dogshit, so returning several figures a year is normal and that's not something you can do on Amazon now. My other alternative is walmart, who charge more and barely stock anything.

I look forward to getting this Kiryu Optimus, and think he will go great with Signal Flare here. But i do wish we got a proper Toho vehicle. Imagine one of the three Super-X models, or Gotengo. A proper official Maser Tank would have been brilliant. But they couldn't even manage to give us a partial reminder to give Godzilla spines, so no way they were gonna give us a brand new vehicle mode.

I'm still holding out hope they might go nuts for the 75th Anniversary and give us some new molds or even an inspired small line. But that's a dream, and it's five years away.

Yeah the QC is what bugs me man. I will say I am loving current day engineering and designs, but the QC is absolutely killing me and Amazon was my ray of hope because they would let me exchange or at the very least, send it back. Now that hope is kind of evaporating and on Pulse you'd be lucky if they do a replacement. I had to ask if they would give me 86 Prime's blast effects/axe as my box didn't even come with them and they said "sorry no" so I had to go kick rocks. I managed to trade someone the figure they sent me as a complimentary ploy to get me to leave them alone for those accessories, but this just sucks man.

I don't even like John Warden, but what they did to him was shitty, and Hasbro is constantly fucking bitching about lost profits etc. while they waste all this fucking plastic over these QC issues. Everyone BUT the higher ups get punished and everyone else is doing a stellar job imo. But because of poor management of all of their brands, they take it out on the designers and customer support and factory workers and let the blame fall on them because they can't be fucked to pay someone to look over the figures before they were sent out.

I had more figures as a kid than I do now and this NEVER was an issue. Maybe once every few years it would happen, but not 3/5 of my purchases.

Missing accesories has been a recurring issue these past few years. Not having dedicated placing on a clear plastic shell really fucked this up. Better pray they put them all in the baggie, or they didn't give you two of the same accesories when one is for the right, and the other's for the left. The "take away" refund thing was happening randomly in the past few years, but Amazon would normally correct this it you went to chat. Not anymore. Missing parts will also lead to a partial refund (I recently returned something missing parts and got a full refund, but I don't trust this will keep happening).
-Items damaged that are believed to be caused by the buyer will only recieve a partial or zero refund. In the event of zero refund, Amazon won't even send the item back so you lose the money and the item. If it's damaged in transit, you now have to contact the post office (I've seen some sites comment on this, but I haven't checked Amazon to confirm).
-Items frequently returned have a fee attached. They're basically reprimanding buyers for getting a faulty product because they warned you about it first. While return fees were normally a region specific thing (attached to the cheapest service near you), this one feels really scummy.

You can actually find a few statements online about it. Amazon isn't obligated to refund you if they didn't recieve the item, and some cases don't refund without a receipt (which isn't provided in a number of stores, so good luck).

What's concerning is that is likely not the end of it. I think it's not outside the realm that by Summer of next year the prices are 34.99 for a deluxe, 55.99 for a voyager, and 109.99 for a leader. It's likely why everything is slowing down and why most companies, not just toys ones, are slowing their distribution down to a crawl pace to keep the mes that kind of inflation spike is going to cause more under control.

Side note, this made the relationship between Airazor and Tigatron difficult to dub, and the setup was basically supposed to be an aromantic samurai bushi/retainer one for Season 1. But then Japan had to dub “Other Voices”, where no amount of dub magic would cover up that on-screen Airazor and Tigatron were romantically involved with each other. Looking at their legacy commander releases, Motormaster(combiner) and then armada Prime, i think maybe these new trilogy will follow the same pattern, combiner next year and jetfire the next one.

NTA, but that's definitely a female. While there's no size reference here, males are also known to have larger teeth on the lower jaw that protrude slightly even when the mouth is closed. They also have thinner tail flukes. The whale in your picture has no teeth visible and a rather broad looking tail, so even though we can't compare her size relative to another whale, we can tell from a glance she's female.

I noticed at first his knee wouldn't bend. I don't know if it's "mistransformed", but if you move the back part of his leg to the side you can get a proper knee joint movement going. It's really stuff and it's easy to get the other transformation joint to m9ve instead, but the knee is there. It's the worst part of the figure though, yeah. Also, his back pack won't lock into the tabs on his back and one gun wont lock in properly to its robot mode holster. Not the biggest deals, but annoying.

Yes thats mistransfoming, having to "untransform" part of your figure or getting it into an unofficial configuration. Most of the time its done to get better looks, its a shame when it has to be done to fix a design flaw.

These two showed up yesterday, but I didn't have a chance to open them until today. Slipstream's okay, but it really irks me that she can't mount her Null Rays to her shoulders like a traditional Seeker. I love her colors, though, but much like Windblade, they really needed to find a better way to hide her arms in jet mode.
Predacon here has been a bit of a grail of mine for a while now, and I'm having a lot of fun with him - my brother owned the original TM one when we were kids, so this is technically my first time with the mold. He holds up pretty well even by modern standards - that old Beast Wars engineering is still pretty great even with the chunkier, squat proportions.
Not pictured, but I also got Bayverse Wreckage last week after seeing someone post him here - he's awesome, definitely one of my favorite designs from the line. Anyway, it was a good haul, even if 2/3 of it are actually older figures.

The Savage Noble 'Beastchanger' mold would make for a perfect wolf man, but there's really no justification for the dragon mode. Wolfman to Wolf really is the way to go with this one.

They should have stuck around combiner wars scale but shrunk the individual bots down to be about a head shorter than prime. I honestly don't care about devastator scaling with other combiners, just let him tower over all of them. The constructicons was always the odd exception when it came to g1 combiners since devy is formed out of 6 bots instead of 5 and isn't a scramble city styled combiner.

the way i sees it, you need, at a bare minimum, articulation-significant-enough-to-require-dedicated-real-estate at three points per limb, and so it's just not gonna work out very well. if you could reduce it in half by doubling the components, you'd be in the ballpark.

He's the smallest size class for Beast Machines - they did what they could, and he actually does have a bit more going on for his transformation other than 'just stands up' - his entire upper torso basically turns itself inside-out to hide the wolf head (and you can only see his spark mid-transformation, which is kinda cool). My only two issues with him were how tiny his beast head was (again, couldn't be helped) and that his hands end up with their fingers pointing backwards in robot mode (easily fixed by swapping his left and right arms). He's not perfect (they can't ALL be Battle Unicorn), but he's still pretty fun.

The trailer looks like ass in truck mode because the proportions are so terrible and it doesn't actually do anything.
The base mode is a pile of combiner rubble.
So all it is is a bunch of giant robot parts that the actual figures attach to after the fact instead of an actual combiner. and you pay a commander price tag instead of a voyager price for a combiner torso.

If you take a look at the series the staff clearly were super fans. The show is lovingly crafted and Academy is probably even better still and is full of G1 cameos. The only people who love the franchise more than the show runners were the people making the toys. They really had a field day and there are some deep cuts hidden in the line.

Got Legacy Chromia in today. She's pretty cool! I like her colours a lot, and she's got a great look to her. The back of the bike mode is a little unstable but nothing awful, and it does look nice. Also she's got an unintentional ab crunch, which rocks. My biggest issue is I wish she had new weapons, the shuriken aren't bad but they don't feel right for her.
Still, not a bad buy at all.
