there's lots of drill hand guys i know of.. Drill Bit, Transmetal Inferno, uhh one i'm forgetting.. Armordillo doesn't, but you KNOW he can still dig with those huge claws.

I saw heavily marked down dragon megatron (cryotek is fucked) and some TF ONE stuff.
and this store has FREQUENTLY had literally two transformers in it. and not just because that's all that was left, it was just copies of 2 of them. that was all they were selling at the time.

this target is run pretty poorly. last time i went there, i finally let myself splurge on an icee even though 2 bucks is kind of a lot for a cup of carbonated slush. i just love em. There were no cups. I asked if I was supposed to get a cup from the counter, they said no, I can only buy it if i use the special cups with UPC barcodes on em. So while there's plenty of the stuff left, they can't sell any to me due to a lack of cups. Fucking baffling.

we need to just accept that any tail-to-legs grimlock is gonna have.. pretty thin legs. That's fine. For one thing, move the tailtips to the INside surface of the legs, to fill them out so they aren't just flat.

This was one of the only Marvel Crossovers Transformers that I thought looked actually like a Transformer, aside from the head. So I replaced it and boom. I envision him as a character they drop in on a battlefield to absolutely decimate everything and pick him up after they trigger a shutdown sequence.

The day wasn’t a total bust. Earlier in the shopping trip I found another Earthspark Grimlock and I decided Iike the mold enough to try again after my first copy’s QC issue. 2nd copy is perfect! 1st copy really is defective. Even after trimming some plastic the backpack still springs out of place no matter what I do. Happy to have a perfect copy and the broken one is going back to the store

a W-shape of the middle can combine into some awkward legs, and perhaps you can detach some parts and flip them back up to the new torso..

Friend and I were discussing a BW styled dragonfly TF where the wings formed the limbs ala BM Buzzsaw, except with the arms as well. In the end we settled on this:

There's TWO snake guys, and interestingly, they're both Maximals. Colada is the better known, but I feel Night Viper pulls off the transformation better. Either way, using a cobra seems to be the way to go - taking advantage of the frill for the extra mass required is a must, even if it looks ugly.

The issue is that the core bot and trailer likely aren't on entirely separate molds. If they made only the core bot, they'd have a bunch of trailer pieces being pointlessly made. There's a reason all trailer-less redecos from the original Armada line used the smaller, inherently trailer-less Armada mold and not the big one designed to come with a trailer.

I was thinking of repainting legacy metalhawk into skyfall with a new head (pic rel). Similar deal with the mayhem bludgeon and gutcruncher but I do like the hulk tank idea (and that other anon's posts with it). I might have to get ahold of one of those for something.

I imagine Take-Off has to have some kinda flying altmode given his name but idk if there's ever been a figure of a guy that turns into a plane with landing gear ending up on the shoulders.

For Charger maybe TR Highbrow as a base?

The new Knight Rider one makes sense. Giving KITT a robot mode is the logical next step for an AI as advanced as he was. The Back to the Future one made sense, too, considering it was specifically the futuristic version of the DeLorean - it was already a fusion-powered, flying time machine, so having it turn into a robot as well really wasn't all that weird at that point.

The face looks fine to me, infinitely better than the current legacy release. Looking forward to the upcoming one for that new face. shit's so finnicky.. it's crazy being a fan of both action figure robots and model kit robots, you want such different shit.. if something is going to have a lot of friction joints, keeping it light helps a lot, and if it's motorized, all the moreso having decently flexible plastic so nothing destroys itself if it's slightly offcenter.

Don’t get me wrong for a second, I love all eras of Transfotmers, but the live action stuff has a certain special appeal that is lost on many. The entire aura of the live action stuff is so much more brutal and “mature” sometimes it makes the G1 stuff feel “soft” to me. Also another awesome factor of the movie stuff is you get an officially listened alt mode that’s basically a model car instead of characters that turn into a stack of blocks.

Got my Comic Straxus from a questionable ebay seller. I'm honestly shocked it arrived, though the seller seems to be trying to scam (used Fedex and wrote the wrong name on the package).

Anyway, Straxus is a pretty good toy. Despite the Galvatron mold being released a few times, it's still nice and tight. My only real complaint is not including a more comic accurate pickaxe and not remolsing a bit more (redoing the thighs and remolding the torso a bit so I'd resemble his cannon mode more.

I really wish they had come up with a super mode for Armada Megs that made him feel like the equivalent to Armada Optimus. The Tidal Wave "strap a shitload of guns onto him" mode always felt like kind of an afterthought. Lio Convoy and Galvatron both feel like conceptual designs that had for another, nonBW line they had an idea for and reworked as BW style toys. Maybe not so much Lio, since he's all organic, but takara made up plans for gimmicks in the Beast era Hasbro said no to due to budget or space reasons.
With galvatron he really feels like a Brave toy they slapped a BW era head on. Lio, while I doubt he would be this specifically, does seem a bit like the Gridman figures in proportion and feel.

That aside, just got this beast in the mail. As well as TFOne Prime, Armada Super Starscream, and a mini supermode prime that comes with a mini sparkplug figure. Havent taken it out of the box but opened up to take a look and he was bigger than I expected him to be. Really living up to the name.

They looked neat and were cheap. The Devastator one is really nice with the tiny Arcee and Hot Rod. The prime bust is sorta neat to fidget with too, has a thing on the back you push and pull to pop out and pull in the matrix and it opens and closes on its own

It still bugs me that that's the only existing piece of merch for T-AI. Not only is it essentially a statue, and that it's unabashedly strictly coomer material (seriously, she's a hologram. Why would a hologram have anything rendered under its clothing, and why would it need to bathe?), but she's also been sculpted to look...questionably younger than she actually appears to be on the show, for reasons. Even if someone had the balls to get this thing, you could never display it openly where someone might see it.

I literally have had all five of these, including the T-AI one, on my shelf for years. And I don't even have coomer stuff. Just transformers on my shelves. The other four look cool, and the T-AI one is so ridiculous that it's too much goofy fun to hide it. One time my sister in law, who doesn't care about transformers, came over and when she eventually noticed it, she latched onto it, loving it, going on about how it's "so cute and so funny."

Cringing at what's silly fun is the real cringe. There are a lot of things to be uptight and embarrassed about, but this ain't one of 'em. Every time I hear someone go off about how awful that T-AI mini-statue is, it reeks of insecurity. (And possible over-compensation with projection too.)

I dunno looks like a definition of bootleg/knockoff to me. Think of other times you hear 'knockoff.' unofficial expensive purses or watches. copies of the original, but discernable because they aren't literally made with the same stuff.

Voyager class available now/soon, or any Voyager class Decepticon ever?
If the former, Legacy Tarn and Legacy Cybertron/GF Starscream. Legacy Jhiaxus technically counts, even if he's a new-age Decepticon. Also by technicality, these're Leaders but frequently sell for Voyager-or-less prices: Legacy G1 Galvatron/GenSelects Galvatron, and Legacy Armada Megatron (and prolly his repaint soon, Armada Galvatron).

If the latter, I'll leave that to somebody older and sexier than I.

His paint already looks different depending on the lighting, and he's an ugly yellow neon fuck from ugly neon times, this is one of the few times where yellowing legitimately will not matter. This is what I told myself when getting him and he's been nothing but fun. Decent heft, you could definitely believe he could beat up Optimus or Rodimus. Just pretend he went through a portal or something.

we had the R.E.D line for that but it shat the bed so hard that their upcoming prime starscream never saw the light of day pretty much having the entire subline quietly swept under the rug. I'll never understand the thought process and design philosophy with that line. The articulation was subpar, certain parts on figures where removable for no reason (arcee's chestplate, cheetor's cheeta head), all the figures were made out of a weird rubbery plastic, and the scaling was all over the place. Like who the hell would buy a RED primal when you have the kingdom figure that is as equally accurate, articulated AND is able to transform?

I have Legacy Soundwave (the original one, the cleaned up reissue from Siege) and no cassettes.
Do you guys think it is worth it to get the new leader release and double-dip on Soundwave himself to get 3 of the cassettes right off the bat? Or stick with the Legacy and chase different tapes down on the secondary market? I bought 86 Frenzy on ebay last night so he's coming either way.

what was the thing like RED that was during the movies? That one we REALLY had our hopes up, because the movie designs are so hard to get right in toys, and I swear they tried even less than RED.

Funny enough all the Soundwaves seem slightly off to me. Like my Legacy Soundwave isn't really the right shade of blue, he looks almost black unless there's a bright light on him (but not black ENOUGH to pass for a Soundblaster, which would have been cool). Meanwhile the new Soundwave looks even darker than that in pictures.

god, the armor idea isn't even that bad. but they executed it so poorly. there's not enough of it, and part of it is ON TOP OF another transparent green piece, squandering it. I guess maybe that's the holo generator. the sideways-ass fins on the shoulders do nothing. this really could have worked.
It's also kind of conspicuous when the cockpit ISN'T transparent when transparent plastic is our entire thing. Though given that part of it becomes his fucking FEET for some reason.. maybe wouldn't have worked out.

Maybe you're thinking of the Super7 Ultimates, which were a similar concept, but don't by a licensed company? Finally, this PF Inferno custom took for goddamn ever
I learned a lot from customizing Antagony, and tried simplifying it a bit. The ant legs still look better than they did before, but they could be improved with a bit more sawing and gluing, i'm just so tired of putting power tools near my fingers.
I left some red details on because they would be really hard to paint, and I think yellow, bronze, gunmetal, and red work together. I painted clear yellow over Scavenger's purple head area, along with the Inferno purple parts, and it made this neat kinda rose-bronze. and the green eyes match. I think this is pretty alright. callin him Carrion

Working on a custom now. Character is a female Autobot* car, stuck up rich girl type. Can't think of a good color scheme that would look nice (and one that doesn't overlap Arcee) but she's supposed to be from G2 so I've been looking at the G2 Go-Bots and Spy Changers for inspiration.
