It’ll sound a bit silly, but Lighter Fluid and dish soap will make quick work of most all general dirty grime and stains without damaging (most) paints and plastics. I’ve personally used them for cleaning some really funky marvel legends and seen tons of vintage toy groups (Star Wars and Silverhawks) have fabulous results (even removing ink and spray paint stains), so I can’t imagine you would have any trouble with this older kinda softer rubbery plastics. An ultrasonic cleaner that they use for jewelry might get some of the lighter stains out too, but probably not enough to be worth the money. Toy Polloi has TONS of videos on it, and I’d highly recommend checking him out. I’d also recommend some paint brushes, mod podge and paints to touch up any small details, but I don’t think it’ll be needed. These are in pretty damn good condition! Not to say that it'll be a cakewalk, it’ll def take some elbow grease and time, but I genuinely cannot imagine these not looking brand new with some effort, and very little cost. You’re a good dad and it’s sweet to see you going to this effort. Post the results when you’re done!
