What is it about modern LEGO that rubs me the wrong way? It's not just how 99% of everything is license-themed or pandering to AFOLs (although these are part of the problem). It also feels like they're giving you less while disguising it as more. The way that newer builds look and feel cheap and bare-bones while also bloating the piece count. Getting rid of baseplates and other single-mold specialty pieces to save money.
Is anyone else seeing this?
I know it's not just LEGO, other toys are suffering in this day and age. But I'm not going to pretend that THEY'VE STILL GOT IT like /lg/ does.
