I consider it the peak of the movie lines. The Returns line really only had the Batman mold and a mediocre Robin and reuses for Penguin and Catwoman. B&R was ok but lacked the ambition of the Forever line

true which is why i see the appeal, most of the forever figures have their own sculpts. like on a figure by figure basis not just one for the whole movie.

i think my main gripe with forever is the tiny beady eyes kilmer has on all of them, he looks so sad and empty.

I would love to see the cancelled figures myself. Wonder Woman, Blue Beetle, Superboy, Supergirl and Martian Manhunter all had armors featured in the coloring book. Oracle, and Steel also appear in that coloring book but I don't think they had armors. Blue Beetle was released without armor, and others appeared in the JLA line that replaced it but I don't think we've ever seen the prototypes and art featuring the unmade figures.

I guess no one went full Total Justice autist the way Toyotter went full Super Powers autist so this stuff was just never uncovered.

Total Justice was objectively superior to Super Powers in every way. The sculpting was insane and every character felt unique. Super Powers is just Funko Pop copy and paste.

I'm a Super Powersfag but The Legend of Batman/Man of Steel/Total Justice/JLA was the best era for DC toys. Kenner did well to keep all those lines consistent so you could mix and match and there was such a wide variety of heroes to choose from.

Each of Kenner's Super Powers figures had an original mold. There was no reuse across the entire line. It was one of the reasons the series was cancelled. The action figures were expensive to implement, and Kenner's insistence that each figure had a unique mold and there be no visible pegs made the line unprofitable despite strong sales.

Total Justice, similarly, was mostly unique molds in the first 4 waves but the rebranded JLA waves reused a lot of parts. Superman's body was used for like a third of the line.

They have a Batcave but the one that's really cool is the Batmobile that turns into a lab type thingy you can attach to the Batcave set or use on its own as a bad guy's lair. You basically get two display options with one purchase, it's brilliant.

Honestly? Pretty good for a $12 figure. Spin Master's titan figures are far better than Hasbro or Mattel's versions. The SM titans have better articulation and sculpt. Plus the the plastic feels thicker and less brittle. Unfortunately, Wal-Mart seems to have stopped carrying them. So you're going to have a harder time to find them at Target or some drug stores.

I will say it was better than it is now since waves had a large selection and you didn't see ten Hal Jordan's on shelves but distribution still had issues and scalping was bad. Also pegs were clogged with unpopular characters and if someone wasn't willing to buy them you'd be lucky to even get newer waves. Also you still had chase variants and it wasn't uncommon for the chase to be the version fans wanted more.

Im missing martian manhunter, i only started checking after i got a second batman. But i really do think just checking the numbers is more fun than knowing the codes. Id say blue beetle is my least favorite but im not a fan of that version. Hopefully series 2 comes out this year.

Games Workshop has said they can usually only hold onto someone for a couple years before they burn out and have all the space marines and orks they'll ever need, only occassionally buying a new box here and there. That's part of why they have to print new editions and codexes, too.

These hobbies have definite cycles where they need to reprint or remaster iconic figures like Vader and Spider-Man so new collectors can get into the line and build their teams.

Instead of going with the flow Todd chooses to do things like make one iconic version of Wonder Woman a Collector's Edition and if you miss out you're just fucked and have to settle for some Gal Gadot Wondy in your Avengers team. Productions runs are intentionally so limited that the secondhand market means you're going to be paying out the ass for some characters that have no hope of ever being reprinted in that form.

Basically, if you didn't start collecting McFarts at the beginning you're going to be paying insane scalper prices for core figures like classic Wonder Woman and Action Comics 1000 Superman. Couple that with orders getting delayed and cancelled and lolrandom variants, almost everyone here has been fucked by Todd and cycled out of the hype frenzy so now we just see how fucking annoying and exploitative Todd is.

Fuck yeah we love Imaginext and Spinmaster, those are some fun fucking toys.

Wonder Woman welcomed Dr. Fate as the seventh member of the League today.

I wanted a solid magic user and there doesn't seem to be a classic Zatanna on the horizon so he'll do. Plus he'll look awesome once he's hit with some washes and drybrushing to bring out the texture and details.

mcfarlane has so many different DC lines its impossible to keep them straight. Does he really need to keep making new brands and subbrands? Hasbro doesn't do this with Marvel Legends, they just release "Marvel Legends". There is no need for DC Direct Digital or Collector Editions or the like.

Yeah, itd be simpler to a multiverse and retro line. If the bodiy style is going to be diffrent then it should be a seperate thing. throwing a card stand and some extra hands isnt a toy line, nor is getting a nft with your figure.
