Even officially, the movie cars, for example, are way too tall. There's no reason Hot Rod, Kup, and Blurr should be closer in height to Ironhide and Ratchet than to Wheeljack and Prowl, for example. When you see the movie and season 1 guys together in Headmasters, for example, they're all clearly around the same size.
This probably started because you see Kup uphill in the foreground from Hound and Bluestreak in the movie in his first appearance, and autists can't into perspective so they decided the new cars were all much taller for some reason.
