With the DMX / PenZ, you get 30+ Areas to battle with a ton of different opportunities to go down branching evolution paths. Digimon actually have HP and crits have a close-up on their face.
With the DMC / PenC, you get like 9 areas and battles are always the same except the last hit. There's no real training, digimon do not gain levels, and you don't get quest items on those devices.
If they ever made a DMX Color and Pendulum Z Color, it would explode in popularity. I don't have much expectation for the
