I noticed that recently, Kirby, Waddle Dee, Ice Kirby, and Beam Kirby are getting reissued by GSC.

I don't own any of them. Are they worth it? Which ones do you recommend?

I heard some horror stories about how he has a rubber coating at degrades with time. Is this true? How common is that?

Uhm if you copied the OP of nendo general it says right there how to treat a sticky kirby. The thing is he has a coating for his rubbery feel that can evaporate and become sticky if he's kept in the plastic box. If he's in the open it probably won't happen at all but there is a guide (by gsc themselves) on how to clean the sticky off. It doesn't really affect the look of the figure itself so whatever. Also if you get him buy his robot. That thing is extremely expensive to get in the aftermarket

I bought the 30th anniversary one and i fucking love it. His little feet are fucking impossible to stand up straight though, always needs a stand but I love the magnetic limbs they are perfection for kirby. I ended up getting another earlier release too for other face plates. I don't think anyone else will ever make a nicer kirby toy unless someone engineers a kirby with big succ action and an expanding body.

Before the nendo my favorite piece of kirby merch was the plushy that had velcro for the hands and feet. Even had accessories for his different abilities. I owned the cutter, sword, and mic sets, I regret selling it so much

Mine turned into an absolute plasticizer mess in just a year.

I have Kirby, can't really remember when I got him, it was before coivd if I remember, and he's been sitting on my shelf for years and hasn't really had any problems. Also just checked all my swappable parts that were in the box for a number of years before sorting them into drawers with other accessories and they too are fine. Nothing sticky and the rubber coating seems to be fine on mine. He's held up just fine for me.

Mine is still in perfect condition and i got him either in 2016 or 2017.

The only problem i have with it is the fact that matte grippy coating makes dust stick on real easy. Otherwise, it's dry and matte feeling.

Dunno where his alt pieces are to check if leaving it closed up did any damage.

Mines turned to shit quicklt too. I bought it when it was first announced all those years ago.
THe irony is that all my others stored ones (robobot, 30th) are fine but the displayed one turned into shit.

I genuinely don't think they could make a better Kirby if they tried. The only downside is like the other anon said, in that he can't really stand up on his own since his feet aren't flat, but I always have him in a jumping pose so it doesn't matter to me.

Thank you guys! I just preordered the regular Kirby with the Fire and Sword parts.

Are the variants any good? I noticed that Ice comes with stuff for Fighter and Parasol. Does Beam Kirby include anything extra too?

I had the original release Robobot Kirby displayed out of box and it stayed perfect quality. I also have the 30th anniversary and Meta and they've stayed great, also displayed out of box.

Originally kept them displayed on a shelf, moved them into a glass display just to prevent dust. Haven't had any issues and they're some of my favorite nendos.

He was ok for a few years and in the last few months he started getting sticky. He's still got a sticky layer, it's just a bit less. This reissue comes at a good time, but I kinda dislike that it's on a finite lifespan. Out of hundreds of figures, I've only had plasticizer issues with Figma and one Bandai figure.

The official treatment guide literally tells you how to get dust off the sticky parts, it's not specifically a problem with them not being opened.

Yes, I believe it's Intended to add friction so his magnetic limbs stay in place.
The old Takara Kirby figures that had a similar gimmick had rubber pads on the inside of the limbs, to add friction. This solution honestly makes more sense to me.

It's just a term they successful made into something desirable when it's just VINYL plastic, only somewhat different that the toys some sellers make like Bandai that have no articulation and are essentially just figurines, like Funko Pops.

If it's a design you like and you can afford what it's charging, get that.

I love his classic faces. I wish they would do a Nendo for each of his different designs. I would love a white Kirby Nendo like the old american game covers before they knew he was pink. We also really need the furry friends.

NTA but Kirby is one of those guys where the designs he's had are much like the actual games; some have things that one might like more than others but none of them are even approaching bad. I love classic Kirby but there's never been a Kirby design I didn't find adorable. Helps it's a simple and iconic design that's borderline impossible to fuck up I guess.
