Let me elaborate:
I am metal pin anon from a few years ago. At the time i was going through the zoomer midlife crisis and posted everyday for an entire summer on one topic, metal pinned joints.
my central thesis was: hasbro can produce figures on the quality of import brands like mafex, by incorporating metal pins into their design, as well as using unique sculpts, and not shitting out 300 figures a year.
Along comes CT toys, an does exactly that. mafex quality toys for 20$. yes, we can all agree they are "bootlegs", but if some chink can do this in his parents sweatshop, hasbro could 100% do it for 30$. the only reason hasbro and mcfarlane suck is an intentional refusal to make toys for adults, instead chosing kid-safe joints.
we now live in an inverted world. the japanese shf is 35$ at walmart and the hasbro spiderman is 60$. I was trying to signal to you guys this would happen. Hasbro had its chance to change its designs, but now its too late and they arent making figures anymore. Mcfarlane still has a chance to make the switch and essentially provide budget mafex figures, but i doubt he'd do that.
I for one welcome our 20$ Bootleg overlords.
