>>11341334With zero evidence to support the claim it's wild speculation. You're assuming because they're $101 that Mondo are forced to sell the figures for over $100, despite Venkman and Samhain having already been on sale below that. You don't know the terms of the agreement. SH Figuarts were in direct competition with Marvel Legends, being similarly scaled figures of the same versions of the characters Hasbro was making, so it's sensible Hasbro would want to ensure Figuarts are priced high enough to not eat into their Legends market. There is no such competition from Mondo with Real Ghostbusters, so there is less reason for Hasbro to insist the line has to be priced so highly. It could be a $60 minimum for RGB for all you know.
In your Marvel example Bandai included extra shit to justify the price point, and SH Figuarts already have significantly better articulation than Mondo. You're not only wildly speculating that Mondo was forced to sell the figures for over $100 based on nothing but your feelings, you're wildly speculating that they weren't allowed to include more articulation or accessories to improve the value, despite the fact that Hasbro had no problem with Bandai doing this. Your Marvel/Bandai example only hurts your argument, and dispels the notion that a Mondo figure with single knees/elbows and no torso articulation being priced at $101 is Hasbro's fault. The cheapest figure on Mondo's website is a 4POA vinyl which was $75, reduced to $55. That should tell you everything you need to know about Mondo. You were never getting these RGB figures from them for less than $100 regardless of the license terms because this is who Mondo is. You might have been able to get less accessories and/or even less articulation for less than $100, but these specific figures are ultimately the best Mondo is willing for do for $101, and that is price gouging to a ridiculous degree.
