>>11347353It's not exclusive to Hasbro, for example Majora's Mask gold carts are known to have this issue even though the other N64 games on gold carts seem to be doing fine. But Hasbro was probably using this formula more often than others.
Clear plastic is fragile due to the lack of flexibility but as far as I know it doesn't significantly degrade over time. The issue with GPS got seemingly resolved some 20 years ago as well.
