The gimmick of the line is that the figures come disassembled and you put together all the parts yourself, but for some reason they define one individual part as a "block" regardless of its shape. The marketing focuses on "creativity" but I'm not sure how creative you can even be with these, there is only one linear way the figures can be assembled and they don't advertise part-swapping as a potential feature.

I kind of get what they were going for with this line but the PR people who are trying to advertise and market it seem to be missing the point.

I think the idea is to get around only having the license to make a model kit. By making the consumer attach a couple parts themselves they technically are selling you kits instead of figures, it’s a silly distinction but seems to be how it works.

Tbf she does come with quite a lot, 6 faces (3 pre-painted), 5 pairs of hands, double leeks, a mic, a mic stand, a guitar, a keyboard, and a large stand. Also 2x 4 pairs of waterslides for other expressions on the blank faces.

When people push the figure more than it can go then ball joints pop apart and they have an issue with it, it always just confuses me. The hair fell off once, I'd expect it just wasn't pushed in all the way.

Is it really? I thought so too at first but after doing some digging this doesn't track. Their official site gives the address of their HQ and apparently it's in Pasadena, their YouTube location says United States and all of the content on it is in English, the only accepted payment methods they list are the ones used in the US (no Chinese UnionPay and such), their business hours are 7AM to 6PM Pacific so the time zone checks out with their Cali address. No weird chink Engrish anywhere. It seems they may have an official distributor in China and naturally their stuff is made there, but the company is operated from the US.

I still disagree on account of the fact that one of these things I get to build and pose on my desk while the other can barely stand on it's own unless you keep it in the box. FUNCTIONALLY they're very different unless you're a scalper.
