>>11378354I dislike the Lego community because its turned into wallstreetbets over on the Lego subs in a matter of 5 years. Most posts go something like this;
"Lookit all my unopened boxes guys !"
"How much $ can I get for this fig ?"
"Muh (unopened) UCS sets"
Or the posts where some reseller has an entire basement filled with NIB sets, multiple copies of each... stocking up on Lego like its the end times.. its sad to see these desperate people. And how they cannibalize their own hobby.
Used to be more about mocs or showing off older sets until it became just another scalper paradise. And almost completely focused on the monetary value of stuff.
In a way I pity the real Lego purists. The prices for licenced sets and are getting worse all the time. They have trouble keeping stock on a lot of sets, mainly because their own fans buyout all stock of desirable sets and hoard them to price gouge later. Or sell in individual pieces to maximize profits. The Lego community reels of filthy resellers. And I just dont like the vibe anymore. Oh, and they'll shit on Alt bricks any time they get the opportunity. They blatantly lie about the quality all the time. They love bashing alt bricks and will downvote you to oblivion if you dare say otherwise.
I loathe what the community has become. Not necessarily the product.
