I was taking to a dude who has taken apart and made casts of everything he owns.
it's stuff like that (or scanning them as .stils ) that will keep people active with MEGA long after it's gone.

Pic rel, block toys overtook computer table. Computer turned into TV woman ;) so it's all good. Use these cheap ass tripods and boxes/block boxes/rises more than the 'professional' tripods. Cable in bottom right of pics run from camera to monitor. Camera remote insures a good head start if the toys get angry for having their picture taken and get violent, again. FYI: the lighting is the same in all pics and not controlled, pics not digitally corrected or in the usual style. Can slide it all to another surface with little effort, but usually just drop a craft matt down on the plates if needed. Have light boxes, but don't like them.

I try to keep all my customs purist so they can eventually be taken apart again and reused for somethin else, but if I want these guys to look like the most famous of the MOTU knockoffs I'll have to paint them later. Does anyone know a good chemical to remove the paint without damaging the plastic? The warhammer stuff I use hasnt done anything.

Yes they're of a character called Baltard who's a very old meme in MOTU circles. Then Skullman in the middle and a facsimile of a Speclatron figure on the right. MOTU had many bootlegs and knockoffs, and I think it's kinda fun to make them using parts I bought from China.

Got the one with forklift the other week. Intended to get it as a parta pack and even if it was pricey, it's still a nice parts pack. The skull that's included as deco on one of the backsides, is it the same as shape as Skeletors skull? Mega is a bit hard to come by in Germany, almost all of it is on Amazon. I also got a whole bunch of Pokemon sets over the last time. They're a great building experience and I highly doubt whatever Lego is going to come up with is gonna be nearly as fun.

Pic rel, high purity rubbing alcohol (90%) and furious scrubbing with a q-tip will remove the original paint tampos on mega figs. Soaking does nothing and isn't recommended. Wet the q-tip and scrub-a-dubdub... a lot. Weaker alcohol means even more scrubbing. It also removes the 'luster' where you scrub... not sure if mega figs have a topcoat of semigloss or it chemically matts the plastic shine away. Pretty sure it's a topcoat. Haven't noticed any real negative effects otherwise and is limited to the area scrubbed.

We declined as a society when Megabloks stopped making dragon castle sets with those funky 3D baseplates, badass creatures with decent paint jobs, and all the other play features.
None of the more recent dragons capture the same flavor as the original 2000's dragon run.

I've very little nostalgia for the non-IP stuff from this era of Mega outside of vague memories of the brickfilms on YouTube. My parents refused to buy me Bionicle out of fear of my siblings eating the pieces, but let me have two Mag Warriors sets until they heard about some kid swallowing and magnets and dying. As an adult I look back on these old Mega toys and see how cool they are. Do you have anymore?

I loved the terrain pieces, they were just great little pieces to use for fantasy scenes. Probably even use them for like DnD scatter terrain. I think I saw them recently online in like a bootleg lego listing, dragon ball or something, and honestly they'd be great for that too. Kamen Rider Quarry and other desert landscapes.

You can get pdfs for the last few years of sets from mattel's Mega site, not sure if you can get anything older, maybe from their customer service site. I have pretty much all of them saved and can share through like gofile or something. I also have some experience matching up random figs with possible source sets when I was buying them in batches from aliexpress, was kinda fun.

That set is probably my white whale, missed out on it and the other ODST set, the Hawk. Just missed out on getting the tank through a kijiji ad and haven't seen it since outside of very pricy ebay listings. Wouldn't blame you if you ended up with an asking price around those levels but I'd be potentially interested.

I may try to snap some photos of the loose figures and post them here later on but have a ton going on here, so cant promise anything. I bought a few lots for decent prices a while back, so never really sorted them. Do plan to keep some stuff but need to clear out the bulk of it. Haha no worries. Know that feel, been focusing on army men at the expense of Mega and it also shows in my camera reel. Glad to help ID and match figs to sets, was an anon who posted a bunch of stuff last year and was able to figure out a good chunk of what he had from the photos. Pic related is one of those random lots I got off Ali; will say that the demise of the old Mega Halo website makes the ID process more challenging - archived versions aren't the most reliable.
