>>11427320I think the new adult designs are fine in that they fit in with the old ones (Irukatchi and Pochitchi, for example, feel like they came out of the same era), but they're also lacking variety since there's not a lot of ugly-cute or ambiguous species that aren't just animal-themed.
My bigger gripe, personally, is this
>>11412128, that Bandai seemed to lose the plot when it comes to the growth aspect of Tamagotchi. In the old entries, every stage in a Tamagotchi's life mattered, and as a result of that, the designs given to child and teen stages were deliberate and meant to stand on their own. Some of them (Ichigotchi, Ringotchi, Chamametchi and Marutchi to name a few) ended up becoming mascots in their own right, even though they were temporary stages, they were still important to showcasing the life cycle of the vpets. Sometime in the Color screen era, pre-adult stages were given less importance, with quicker growths treating them more as a means to an end to get to the "permanent" adult stage, and Paradise seems like the ultimate culmination of it. Generic blobs with no personality to push you into the mascot stage.
