The fact that the Tan forces started the attack without preliminary shelling and an armored breach..They really are like ants.

I mean at Normandy / Juno the coastal positions were drenched with off-shore bombardment and air.

Intellectuals make poor generals in most cases, as demonstrated above. Doesn't help that Tan doctrine favours surprise attacks, armoured fist-type assaults and underhanded shenanigans over everything else, with only limited consideration for artillery or air support most of the time. There's a certain animosity between the different branches of Tan military so combined-arms operations are challenging to say the least.

They are almost as baffling as the Greys, for sure. Not to say that the Greens are much better, though many of their problems arise from the fact that theirs is the nation at the centre while being assailed from all sides, inevitably compelling a siege/fortress mentality. The Green army is numerically equivalent or even superior to those of all the others combined but having to guard their entire frontier keeps them from exploiting this advantage. They're also saddled with severe rear-echelonitis and armchair-generalism, a factor that nearly led to disaster during the Tan nu-stealth incursions incident.

While unpacking the thing I noticed they included assembly instructions on the inside liner, pretty cool. It also solved the mystery of a piece I'd encountered in another set - belongs to that one cannon and serves as a "ratchet" to raise or lower the gun.

Has several pieces of tall fencing with barbed wire overtop, enough for a decent-sized enclosure centred on the gateway. This will all come in very handy in some future editions of Colour Wars, for sure.

The ubiquitous three-piece building ruins, also in two colours. The mortars and radar dish have appeared in other sets as well; the handcuffs piece almost seems an accidental inclusion though these kinds of odd accessories are hardly uncommon.

The set is widely disproportionate in some ways with allocating weapons and accessories; in this case almost all the fuel drums and all of the munitions crates are Tan.

Terrain and vegetation pieces are decent, especially the three large rock pieces. Despite all the smaller rock pieces having flagpole holes, there weren't any flags at all in the set, unusually.

Forgot to lump the cave entrance with gate piece in with the rest of the terrain so it's here as a backdrop to the artillery. For the longest time I only had the stationary gun and Hawk SAM battery in green so it's been nice to get them in tan as well. The two other artillery pieces show up frequently in these Chinese sets and are real oddballs; the "field gun" feels more like a circus cannon while the "siege gun" is literally that, descended from a cannon used in the classic board game Siege (or Weapons & Warriors in some parts).

Diminutive tanks sharing the same chassis but two different turret designs - I imagine the twin-barrelled turret is the original match to that chassis as the single-barrelled dome turret is significantly rearward from the centre, somewhat like a BMP if you put a tank turret on it.

Two armies of twelve poses, two of each pose save for there being one fewer Tan flamethrower with a third mortarman in his stead. The Green prone aiming riflemen are deformed and can't quite pose like they should, but otherwise they're typical army men fare.

The shop is somewhat dollar tree related as they do sale final faction, the 3.75 action figure made by Dollar tree.
But since this is not the US I can assume army men brand is from one of the many that companes that make them.

They also got a bag for buildings and random vehicle and another for planes and tanks

Can't really complain for $1.25 USD
Made of hard but clearly cheap plastic.

It takes a significant amount of force to set off the average cap so that may be understandable. There used to be metal "darts" with a nub on the end where you could fit a cap and then throw or drop onto a flat surface to set them off, didn't like them really cuz it needed to be a direct impact to set it off and cap guns were more versatile and cool-looking.
