Are we all sleeping on Jakks' Simpsons? They seem to be going the way of Sonic, with Homer and another shelfwarming, while other waves with non main characters just being a madgrab

Like alot if not most of jakks stuff its not easy to find in my area. Like, ive only seen homer and bart and bart man. I do enjoy their stuff but its just not making it to my area.

It's Jakks' fault. Have you seen how many Homers or Barts are in each case? The latest 2.5" wave cases of 12 have 6 Homers in them. The 5" line is a bit better since they are in cases of 6 so only two figs are shortpacked

They've made this line very difficult to buy, BBTS/EE/Amazon all seem to barely stock them, and the only ones I see in stores are bart and homer.

As someone with a huge collection of those Playmates figures, I'm eager to replace them with newer Jakks figures. They're actually action figures that can pose and they're more on-model, too.

These Simpsons figs don't appear to be selling to well. Part of the problem is probably Jakks' case packouts but part is probably just less demand. Some stores have reduced or completely eliminated the Simpsons pegs already.

Walmarts also have another similar problem to the Sonic lines in which they have an exclusive Bartman figure that they are ordering solid cases of. So the Walmarts that do carry the 5" figs have like 10 or more Bartmen on the pegs that don't move. Just like Walmart ordering solid cases of that god damn spring Sonic that just clogs up the pegs.

Yeah, they're meant to be dioramas. Why do they need to be posed more than a turn of the head or an arm up here or there? Look at the Jakks monstrosities, that amount of articulation comes at the expense of the figures looking like cartoons. I don't want to display Homerbot 5000, I want Homer in his underwear near his couch where he won't fall over or need a stand.

id think the memes and memories of famous scenes built into all our brain chemistries should've been demand enough. I even wanted Revoltech Simpsons back then, and that age between this and Playmates was completely dark. Super7 was a bad choice in retrospect

the thing is super 7 did some cool stuff and made character/accessory choices we'll never get out of another line. I wish they just weren't so stupid with doing all niche characters, gave us a core family member a wave and that they didn't insist on giant oversized figures just because they want to on have all their ultimates figures roughly the same size. I had their kang and kodos and just decided to get rid of them because the amount of space they took up was insane, considered keeping them just to go with the jakks ones but they're simply too big.

In Guatemala they brought most of the 2.5 inch and 4 inch ones, but yes, they had more Homers and Barts/Bartmans.
The few figures that weren't those two were snatched by facebook re-sellers.
Funnily enough the "deluxe" line was fully stocked and not even the scalpers wanted them, I got the Hulk Homer from that.
None of the Walmarts here ever re-stocked anything since the original batch. They had a ton of Radioactive Man and Vampire Burns figures, all beaten up, in clearance last January.
Right now (just this Sunday I went for groceries) they only have two House sets, nothing else.

Doesn’t even need a transition just have child Bart blink and bam he’s in his 30s sitting beside Homer at Moe’s wondering what the hell happened. Show the new status quo from there following each of the Simpsons.

They already did this in the form of Christmas specials. The timeline is so loose, Homer already had an iPhone while Bart was 5 years old

The Playmate ones had great playset displays and character choice but they were pretty much McFarlane like statues.

I love these new Jakks ones but I am worried about how long it will last. All it takes is one wave that is actually with unique characters to not sell well and kill it all (See Super7 Simpsons)

I think the line isn’t going to go that deep honestly, not because interest isn’t there but just because the retail landscape is so different now. When you have Walmart ordering a case of these once every 6 months and they’re all homers that clog the shelves retailers will just assume no one wants them, see it happen with so many lines these days.

How many of each figure do they make in total? Who buys them that they get sold out so quick? I am always under the impression that figures from America get made in the hundreds of thousands at least?
